U.S.S. Leonard F. Mason DD-852

[edit]

I am looking for any details concerning the ship's participation in Operation End Sweep, the clearing of the mines in Haiphong Harbor. What I have is limited to a note about operating with the U.S.S. Worden (DLG-18).

Yuzuha

[edit]

There is a novel version of Manatsu no Eve, published in Japan. This novel provides more detail about the relationship between Yosho and Yuzuha than is depicted in the movie. I would be most interested in learning about those details.

You Inoue

[edit]

I have found only one photograph of You Inoue and that was the one published in the program guide for Tenchi Muyo! Manatsu no Eve and is posted on my website. Anyone have any other photos?

[edit]

Several pages in Wikipedia have links to my personal website. My personal website is actually constructed as several mini-sites, each having its own look and feel. Most are created as public resources. For example, the USS Leonard F. Mason (DD-852) mini-site contains the most complete history of the ship available and is maintained as a resource for crew members and others interested in the ship's history. It is a volunteer effort. The same exists for You Inoue. The mini-site I have for this veteran voice actress is one of the primary sites dedicated to her. When she passed away, hundreds of fans turned to the site to remember her. Another mini-site I have is for an anime character named Yuzuha. It is the primary fan site for this character. These mini-sites are all public resources, with no gain to myself other than the satisfaction that people turn to these sites for information and other resources.

Personal websites are not suitable external links (please see WP:ELNO) and you should avoid linking to your own site (see WP:EL#ADV). The question of gain is immaterial. -- Rrburke (talk) 21:16, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. Alexf(talk) 01:45, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have carefully read the policies for external links and user names and understand where I was violating Wikipedia's policies. I am now fully aware that external links must not be to a personal website. I joined Wikipedia several years ago under the name Cosmicship. The domain of cosmicshipmedia.net was created a few months ago, which caused the user name policy violation. I am requesting to be unblocked with the user name of Ke6jqp. I would like to contribute to Wikipedia in articles where there is no conflict of interest, such as aviation, computer graphics, video, etc. I promise to no longer edit any article where there is a conflict of interest.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username, with agreement of blocking admin. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. T. Canens (talk) 06:14, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds reasonable to me. Asking blocking admin.  Sandstein  20:09, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Sounds reasonable. As long as you understand that pointing to your website is trying to direct traffic to it, and spamming is not acceptable, no matter what came first, the username or the website. -- Alexf(talk) 09:54, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I understand. I will not link any pages to my website. Cosmicship (talk) 17:08, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
