Fernwood

[edit]

Hey, thanks for writing up the history. I didn't know there was a book out on the community, I'll have to look it up. TheMightyQuill 23:21, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mifflin Gibbs

[edit]

The Gibbs in your history book is the same one that I wrote about. He did go to British Columbia, and in fact, served in politics in BC.

English Canadian

[edit]

Hello, I agree that the material currently at Canadian of English descent belongs at English Canadian. I would favour a second debate on moving the page rather than cutting and pasting. Joeldl 09:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC) Actually, a move debate has been started at WP:RM.[reply]

Your opinion on the Kiev issue

[edit]

Hi Corlyon. With the sole aim of improving the readibility of that talk page I took the liberty of respectfully altering the format of your comment, replacing the * in front of the different paragraphs by <p> in the middle of a single paragraph, thus showing a single point with four different paragraphs and a signature at the end instead of four different points. — Feel free to revert my alterations if you prefer your original format :-) Best regards, Ev (talk) 21:23, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You opinion on NPOV Sarah Palin?

Please post you opinion. NPOV or biased? Thanks LamaLoLeshLa (talk) 03:28, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History of Canada

[edit]

The History of Canada article now sits at 68k. While the content of the article obviously justifies it being longer than the average wikipedia article, expanding it further may not be a great idea. As per WP:SIZERULE and WP:Summary, please consider contributing to the many sub-articles, rather than expanding the main article in ways that simply duplicate information in the sub-articles. Please DO continue contributing though, as your writing is very good. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 17:12, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Posthumous accusations on Groulx

On this topic precisely, I found this to be quite enlightening:

Since it seems you've got a copy of Hauka's book handy, do you think you could do up a bio on McGowan, given his long earlier and later career in the US beyond the context of the McGowan's War story? Woulda done it quite a while ago if I'd still had the book....maybe better titled Edward McGowan but I'd think "most common usage" would hold sway for the title....Skookum1 (talk) 16:25, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, there's a Ned McGowan article already for someone else; the most apt dab would seem to be "(lawyer)", among many possibilities, so I amended the link to a redlink accordingly...Skookum1 (talk) 16:26, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Whannell and Hicks could also use bios, also Ovid Allard, if you're care to indulge; Ovid's son Jason Allard is notable as well, for various reasons though I know there's nothing on him in that book. Hicks there's a few placenames in the general area (Hicks Lake and Mount Hicks are near Harrison, I think....).Skookum1 (talk) 16:29, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And of the Fraser Canyon war folks, Captain Snyder (first name?) is a needed bio; I'll try and get a David Spintlum/CxptentlEM/Chief Spintlum article started soon...and is'nt Pahallak also mentioned in there; I know Kowpelst is....what a great cast of characters huh? Whoever said BC history was boring hasn't read any IMO....Skookum1 (talk) 16:32, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vancouver/BC

[edit]

Hi! I have a question which has nothing to do with WP so you'll forgive me for asking but I would be grateful to see what you know since I rarely meet people from the east who now live west. I am thinking of moving to Vancouver for awhile but I have heard that the weather is always cloudy and miserable and raining, etc. I'm doubtful of this considering how bad winters can be in Montreal and Toronto and plus it rains like crazy here a lot too, so it can't be that bad. What are your thoughts? Is it much more preferable there weather-wise than in cities like Montreal and Toronto? I would appreciate your views if possible. Thanks!
