User signature on articles

[edit]

Dear Corey, you do not need to sign your name in articles that you edit. Your signature is intended for talk pages instead. Flibirigit 21:27, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comment added. Oh, and I've cut your sig from the article - it's just for talk pages (like this one). Cheers, Sam Clark 21:45, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I commented too. Widefox 14:46, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

wikipedia is not for original research. These articles are about the insects, so "painfully" is imprecise, because they sting many animals, not just humans (another bee, human, animal etc). Your statement of level of pain is also POV - there are pain scales - even a sting pain scale - please refer to Schmidt Sting Pain Index (I know Bumblebee not listed), or reference.Widefox 14:45, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Carbon tetrachloride

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you.

Your edit just duplicated the info on liver damage. This is considered vandalism, and so I have reverted your edit.Widefox 17:18, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mercury(II) chloride

[edit]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Ditto my last comment - this edits duplicates existing information. Widefox 23:29, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bald-faced hornet

[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Bald-faced hornet, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. wikipedia is no place for original research. This edit has no references, and does not add anything to the article. Widefox 17:40, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mercury (element)

[edit]

Your edit "It is highly toxic by skin absorption and inhalation. " does not belong in the "Precautions and regulation" section. It belongs in the section above, which have been split off into a separate article. This means that the unreferenced information you added is repetition. Widefox 23:44, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, as you did to Mercury (element), you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

The history page of Ten Cent Beer Night [1]lists these edits:

  2. (cur) (last) 21:51, 6 July 2006 Corey Bryant (Talk | contribs)
  3. (cur) (last) 21:51, 6 July 2006 216.146.109.42 (Talk)

It looks like you have made a slip-up, and used your IP to edit before you logged in as Corey Bryant. This ties the IP 216.146.109.42 to your account Corey Bryant, but more importantly, it means that you can be traced.

Edits from 216.146.109.42 are all unreferenced, and appear to be vandalism, as are all but one of your edits under Corey Bryant.

I shall also escalate this. Widefox 04:11, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Vandalism"

[edit]

I went through your (recent) edits, and I'd like to talk to you about them. It'd make this whole process easier if you didn't "yell" (all caps) and we could talk about this responsibly. Until we get this sorted out, if you could refrain from editing other pages, that would be useful, thanks.

I think User:Widefox has unjustifiably labeled a lot of your edits vandalism. But you should look into the original research link I listed above and just make sure that the additions you make to wikipedia are verifiable.

You should make sure you understand Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Also, put your sentences on the same line rather than having them be cut off. Look at other articles for examples of all these things, and follow those examples. —Centrxtalk • 17:21, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Wayne Hillman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Wayne Hillman is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and leave a note on Talk:Wayne Hillman, explaining how Wayne Hillman is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, article #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.Cbrown1023 20:38, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to 1966-67 NHL season

[edit]

As mentioned repeatedly now on the article's Talk page and in edit summaries, your edits are taken from copyrighted printed sources, as well as being largely unencyclopedic, and as such cannot be used on Wikipedia. Please cease reverting them at once. See WP:COPYVIO for more information. Ravenswing 21:12, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop reinserting this unencyclopedic information into the season articles, epsecially if it is taken from a copyrighted source. Resolute 00:12, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's not only me, but several other editors as well. Right now, you are persisting in your unencyclopedic reversions against unanimous consensus, and if you keep on doing so, you are risking being blocked. You are strongly urged to participate in the discussion at Talk:1966-67_NHL_season. Stridently shouting over and over again that we're not allowed to touch your edits will certainly win you no compromises. Ravenswing 21:35, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Ravenswing 21:59, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Numerous edits to 1960s NHL season articles

[edit]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to 1960s NHL season articles. See Wikipedia:Copyrights. Copyright violations are unacceptable and persistent violators will be blocked. Your original contributions are welcome. Ravenswing 19:05, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of John Gordon Purvis

[edit]

A tag has been placed on John Gordon Purvis, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Completly and utterly opinionated and POV

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ≈ The Haunted Angel (The Forest Whispers My Name) 22:50, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Here's a question Bryant, why don't you stop adding copyrighted or unsourced material to Wikipedia? I'll revert you all day if I have to until you start producing useful, original and sourced material. CroCan "Short answer 'yes' with an 'if'...long answer 'no' with a 'but'" 19:54, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to 1972-73 NHL season, you will be blocked from editing. Croat Canuck talk 20:05, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is your only warning.
The next time you make a personal attack as you did at Talk:1966-67 NHL season, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. -- JamesTeterenko 20:55, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why your contributions are reverted

[edit]

Users have reverted your contributions because they feel they violate the policy of no original research. I suggest you read over that and begin editing after you feel you can source you information. T Rex | talk 19:20, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you give some examples, after looking through some of your contributions it doesn't look like you do. Just give me some examples and everything is all good. T Rex | talk 19:13, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that your edits are in good faith. Please read over WP:CITE so that you can learn how to source your information more carefully so that other editors won't question your edits. T Rex | talk 20:25, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think you could revise the article 1925 Stanley Cup Finals to read that game two of the Stanley Cup Final was played at Denman Arena in Vancouver? The Trail of The Stanley Cup Vol. I states that it was played there. I just tried to insert in the location box that it was played in Vancouver, but somehow I can't work on it, as it does not show up in the "Show Preview"Corey Bryant (talk) 21:16, 7 October 2009 (UTC) section.[reply]

I just saw an article on hockey executive Len Peto. You should mention that he obtained the dormant Montreal Maroons franchise and got permission to move the franchise to Philadelphia. Unfortunately, the city could not build an arena, and in this way the Maroons franchise was terminated in 1948. My reference is The Trail of the Stanley Cup Vol. 3 (1947-1967).Corey Bryant (talk) 19:32, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

T Rex I need your help. I tried to put up a biography for Gerry Desjardins based on the book Rookie Goalie Gerry Desjardinsby Bill Libby, but I ran into an editing conflict. My computer is a library computer which runs on a time-limit timer. When my computer told me my time was about to expire, I saved the already typed part of the biography and got back on the computer and continued the biography. But by then, they locked the article, preventing me from uploading the full biography. Could you rectify this? Corey Bryant (talk) 21:25, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Corey Bryant! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Marty Pavelich - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Gerry Desjardins - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1922 Stanley Cup Finals, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Patrick. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
