You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rick Sollars requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rick Sollars. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Taylor, Michigan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heritage Park. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:33, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lint errors on your user page

[edit]

I edited your user page to fix lint errors. In three edits, you reverted my fixes, and then you made one more change. Information for "User:Viiticus" shows the lint errors on the page now, and I've added the tags involved.

Special:LintErrors/multiple-unclosed-formatting-tags 2 small, big
Self-closed tags 3 small (1), center (2)
Missing end tag 6 center (2), big (2), small (2)
Obsolete HTML tags 10 center (8), font (2)

Multiple unclosed tags are a problem especially for small and big tags, because if an unclosed tag is not in a table it leaks all the way to the end of a page. For example, series of unclosed small tags results in text getting smaller and smaller after each unclosed tag.

Self-closed tags: Some tags are allowed to be self closed. For example, <ref name="Foo" /> is short for <ref name="Foo"></ref>. Many other tags can't be self closed. <small /> would mean <small></small>, which does nothing, and it's a prohibited self-closed tag.

Missing end tags are obviously a problem because the effect of the tag keeps on going, which is not your intent.

Obsolete HTML tags are a problem because they are not officially supported in HTML 5 and eventually browsers may not support them.

  • The replacement markup for <font size="5">Some text</font> is <span style="font-size:x-large">Some text</span>.
  • <font size="X"> for X greater than 7 has always been treated as <font size="7">. The replacement markup is <span style="font-size:xxx-large">Some text</span> but it is not guaranteed to work in all browsers.
  • The replacement markup for <center>...</center> is <div style="text-align: center;">...</div>. This does not work in all cases. There is special centering markup for many templates, for galleries, for entire tables, for table cells, and for images. For images, it's really easy, just include "center" (without the quotes) as one of the options in the image declaration.

Anyway, I fixed your lint errors. I had to make some guesses as to your intent with unclosed tags. If I closed an unclosed <big> tag, did you intend it to leak to the end of the page? I made what I thought were good guesses. Apparently you weren't happy with the results. So for now, I leave it to you to fix the lint errors on your user page. Cheers! —Anomalocaris (talk) 19:31, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Flag of Allen Park, Michigan.svg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Flag of Allen Park, Michigan.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oakland County, MI maps

[edit]

There are some glaring omissions on the four infobox maps that you added for the Oakland County cities of Berkley, Birmingham, Pontiac, and Southfield. On each of the maps, you forgot to add the city of South Lyon, as well as the villages of Leonard, Milford, and Wolverine Lake. Additionally, villages shouldn't be shaded, as this is reserved for the cities. —Notorious4life (talk) 22:19, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Royal Seal of Minangkabau.svg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Royal Seal of Minangkabau.svg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:30, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I noticed you replaced the image of the flag that was on the article with your own very different version. Note the article is marked "Good article" which means it was vetted and the information that is there is therefore correct. Why the big change in the flag design? --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 14:23, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@The Eloquent Peasant: Hey! I left a reference in my file that goes to a link of a photo at a parade or some type of gathering displaying people carrying the the flag I added. Some quick Google image searches (though not always reliable) show the flag as green and red with a small amount of flags being sold as the same design as the old Wikipedia one. Correct me if I am wrong on which version is official or unofficial as my knowledge on the EPB is very limited ofc as I tend to stick to heraldry. Here are some examples to look at and lmk what you think: https://64.media.tumblr.com/996a9c76ebf464299b9fb8210d445960/1b457d66d0a75540-b6/s500x750/5a287b31c4c9c2d0168a8f3830cbf4f4e9740079.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lHk3JsmV_kI/UMqDOlv3xjI/AAAAAAAAAGs/Ih_paE_d2PE/s1600/Los_Macheteros_by_gercarloz.jpg https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images1/1/1013/18/ejercito-popular-boricua-macheteros_1_293dba3dae8c9171cb307b51365448c1.jpg
Happy editing and stay safe! -- Viiticus  Loqui? 17:18, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In this book, "Los Macheteros Wells Fargo Robbery And The Violent Struggle For Puerto Rican Independence" one sees an image used in their "underground materials" on page 13. The "gathering of people carrying the flag" and the other links provided here, I'm not sure are good WP:RS for determining the correct version of the flag. I think what was there before is best.
BTW, I reverted your .svg upload because your first .svg on the wikipedia article for Boricua Popular Army was an .svg similar to the image that was there. But then this image now is completely different. I asked in my revert summary if you can upload the file that you think is correct under a different / new name on Commons. Do you understand what I am saying? So then there will be two .svg files you created, the one that looks like the original image that was on the article and then a 2nd/ new one that you think is the correct version based on some people gathering carrying a flag. --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 05:50, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Another book where you can see symbol, of the machete, used by this group is here. Notice: The machete looks green, not red. The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 06:04, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The cover of the book on Los Macheteros shows the red star. So I think we can safely surmise that their flag has a green machete with a red star per attached links to books written about them. --> Then we can surmise that the flag that was on the article before your change was correct. --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 06:09, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In my comments here to you, every instance of flag should say "symbol". See the talk page for the Boricua Popular Army --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 07:52, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit at Ponce, Puerto Rico was reverted

[edit]

Hello. I have reverted your edit of 21:00, 4 May 2023, at Ponce, Puerto Rico. The coat of arms (or city shield as some might call it) that you replaced has been there over 15 years (18:42, 1 November 2007). As such, and as I stated in the edit summary here, it has the tacit approval of tens, perhaps hundreds, of past contributing editors as well as all the current ones. It was a major change to the article, but perhaps you also had a major reason to change it. In that case, please discuss it in the article's Talk Page and achieve WP:CONSENSUS for the change first. Thank you.
