UPE tag on Mercure (hotel)
[edit]I noticed that you tagged Mercure (hotel) as being likely edited for undisclosed payments, citing a specific username, Oranedp (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) as your rationale. Can you please provide some more specific evidence as to why this is the case? I suspect the problematic edits that led you to such a conclusion may be due to cross-wiki edits, which would be fine to show off. Regards, User:TheDragonFire300. [edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Axad12 (talk) 12:35, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for these edits. There is no intention to promote, I thought I was adding these factual elements. I am open to any changes. Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 12:50, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Condottiero dei tempi moderni. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Axad12 (talk) 12:36, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Axad12, I spontaneously declared my "COI" on my profile and the discussion page. I have read and understood the rules. I have remained as neutral and factual as possible by listing criticisms and legal proceedings.
- I find it irrelevant to leave the banner. Normally, it is a temporary maintenance banner to fix a neutrality problem or to clean the page, otherwise the talk page is there to declare the COI.
- Thx for explanations. Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 12:44, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- The point is that those with a conflict of interest should not be editing the article in question directly but should only be suggesting changes via the article talk page.
- Creating an entire article and posting it into mainspace (rather than going through AfC) is highly inappropriate. Axad12 (talk) 12:49, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- I was completely unaware until @00101984hjw told me. Can I go back to draft and submit it through the normal way : the AFC? I now understand that you have to go through the "talk page" for each modification. Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 12:53, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- Going back to draft status and then via AfC would be one possible route, yes. Axad12 (talk) 12:56, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- Let's do this. Let's unpublish the Doctrine (startup) page and proceed through AFC, which is what I suggested yesterday. Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 12:59, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- I personally don't know how to do that. If you know how, please go ahead. Axad12 (talk) 13:01, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- As agreed, I have moved the page back to draft so that it can go through the planned process. --Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 13:50, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
