These comments are in no particular order:

  • Consider your reader(s) - As a non-Spanish speaker, I am immediately at sea because I don't understand the English equivalents of the archetypes you name. That makes much of your conversation unintelligible to me. An English equivalent becomes especially important if one of your goals is to make your ideas accessible to as broad an audience as possible.
  • I always thought motherhood was highly valued in the culture - perhaps as an oppressive stereotype but highly valued nonetheless, so I'm wondering how these archetypes devalue motherhood and mother-daughter relationships. There seems to be a lot taken for granted here - a lot of background knowledge anticipated in the reader already. Perhaps my answer is in bullet number one?
  • The "we" functions like an "I" - just plural - so voice is problematic here from the Wiki point of view.
  • See Wikipedia Manual of Style on formatting of titles.
  • Overall, this draft reads like an outline for your academic essay more than it reads like a Wiki contribution. Now that you have down what you think and feel, perhaps you can step back and imagine how to phrase everything more neutrally and remove the "we" from the draft. As you do so, also consider how much you are assuming your reader already knows about feminism, patriarchy, the subversive power of reclamation, etc. If your focus is a re-telling of the Malinche narrative, perhaps you need more background (the standard interpretations of the character) in order to contrast with the basics of the feminist reinterpretation. I know you are making an effort to frame this re-telling, but perhaps a simpler frame (if less satisfactory for you) would be more effective in this venue.Jagrif02 (talk) 19:54, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
