Hello, Commutiny, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

By the way - speaking of the subject of your first article, does she prefer to be referred to as "Angela Rawlings" or as "a. rawlings"? DS 19:14, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Rawlings-bw.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 05:50, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Commutiny! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 314 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Laurie Block - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 19:36, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I wish I could. I'm technically able to reinstate it, but a Google search of a sample of the text came back positive across several sites. As such, I'm not allowed to restore a copyright violation. Thank you for the kind words, though. My suggestion would be for you to start over with something in your own words, but referenced to the sites the text came back from. In other words, use the sites as sources of information, but not of words. Again, thank you for you kindness and understanding. I catch a lot of flak when I do "new page patrol." --PMDrive1061 (talk) 19:47, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If the sites are in fact copyleft, then yes, I can restore the text. Thank you for clarifying that. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 20:11, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • LOL! Well, I wish this were a job, but I'm a volunteer. Anyone can nominate a user in good standing (including themselves) to be an administrator, but it requires that you have a few months of editing under your belt. It's been awhile since I was made one; at that time, it required work on a featured article like the ones promoted on the main page. It also requires a good attitude and you certainly seem to have that. Let's get a few good months of editing under your belt and we can go from there. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 20:41, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Then I'm doubly impressed with your quick and courteous responses. The world needs more good-natured and understanding volunteer souls like you. Thanks again!

You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:38, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
