Speedy deletion nomination of Jonathon Paula
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jonathon Paula requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 16:37, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Hello, Colmulhall77, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!
I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, Jonathan Paula, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing! The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 17:07, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
File:Erik Per Sullivan Pic.jpg
[edit]Hello. I noticed that you recently uploaded the file File:Erik Per Sullivan Pic.jpg. In doing so, on the WP:File Upload Wizard page, you clicked on an option that said "This image is the object of discussion in an article. [...] The discussion is about the photograph or painting as such, as a creative work, not just about the thing or person it shows." Further down in the same form you clicked another button that said "The article as a whole is dedicated specifically to a discussion of this particular photograph/painting. (It is not just about the person or thing shown in the picture.)" And below that, you must have seen a red warning box saying "If neither of these two statements applies, then please do not upload this image. This section is not for images used merely to illustrate an article about a person or thing, showing what that person or thing look like."
Obviously, the image you uploaded doesn't meet this description.
I would be honestly interested why you thought you could upload this file in this way. Was there anything in these statements that you found difficult to understand? I am asking because you are not the only person who makes this kind of mistake, and I am honestly trying to understand why this keeps happening, so the upload form can be improved to avoid such misunderstandings in the future.
