[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Fort Hill College has been reverted.
Your edit here to Fort Hill College was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/FortHillIntegratedCollege) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. — JJMC89 (T·C) 23:47, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

If you are interested in being a general contributor and edit about topics unrelated to your school as an individual, you may make formal edit requests with regards to your school on the article talk page once you have formally complied with the conflict of interest and paid editing policies(which you should do once unblocked). You should not edit the article about your school directly. Is this agreeable to you? (pinging JJMC89 in case they have unaddressed concerns). 331dot (talk) 11:29, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
Original intention was simply to correct inaccurate and offensive material that had been posted, but when attempted found I had to have contributor account to do so. Is there may to make those corrections and withdrawals without account? I will comply with conflict of interest and paid editing policies but frustrated that Wikipedia allowed inaccurate information to remain and offensive posting to remain. - As you have an account now, and are blocked, you cannot edit under any account or IP address until this block is removed. In looking at your edits I'm not sure what "offensive" information you are referring to, but as anyone can edit Wikipedia, it is possible for articles to contain inaccurate information. We do our best, but we are volunteer editors. This is why Wikipedia should not be considered a reliable source. You haven't answered my question; will you agree to propose edits related to your school on the article talk page as edit requests and avoid editing the article itself? 331dot (talk) 12:01, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
In answer to your question, I will agree to propose edits related to my school on the article talk page as edit requests and avoid editing the article itself. The information I was referring to was calling the member of staff "Mr Tatty Bread". "Tatty Bread" is a derogatory name for an item of local food, not a member of staff's name. - FortHillIntegratedCollege, when you see such vandalism, carefully removing it without discussion is fine. However, this is not a comprehensive summary of what you did. You took the opportunity to add promotional material to the page, which led to the block. Any addition of material needs to be proposed on the talk page instead, and undiscussed removal of information needs to be restricted to clear, obvious cases of vandalism. The staff member name was one of the few exceptions to the discussion requirement.
- Please compare:
- Special:Diff/952946938 (your promotion)
- Special:Diff/952954210/953058883 (better approach)
- This proves a common observation: Editors with a COI are sometimes unaware of whether or how much it has influenced their editing.
- Under the following conditions,
Iwe will probably unblock the account:Before making any edit, you request a name change at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, as proposed above.Your account is renamed to "ColininNI".- You will not directly edit articles you have a connection to, such as Fort Hill College. Instead, you will request changes on the talk page of the article.
- I have added an orange box to Talk:Fort Hill College. You can click the link "request corrections on or suggest content" to easily request changes.
- JJMC89, is this okay with you? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:16, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
- I can perform a rename, their last suggestion is fine. I was just waiting to resolve this. 331dot (talk) 14:27, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
- Ah sorry, 331dot, I forgot you're a global renamer. I have fixed the condition list above. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 15:43, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
- After a rename it is OK with me. — JJMC89 (T·C) 05:24, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
