India Against Corruption
[edit]Hi, we've only just gone through a long, tortuous and frustrating series of discussions about the India Against Corruption article that involved meatpuppets connected to riseup/HRA and legal threats etc. After all sorts of on-Wiki remedies were tried over many months, those complaining were blocked from contributing here and asked to pursue the matter through other channels.
I find it odd that you made four edits to something else in January and then start ripping into this article now, displaying an obvious familiarity with how Wikipedia works. I think that you should make yourself aware of the provisions relating to use of multiple accounts because there is something here that doesn't feel quite right, sorry.
If you wish to make massive changes to the article as you were doing then you would be best advised first to discuss them on the article talk page. And do that only after making yourself familiar with the voluminous past discussions, including those at WP:ANI and at the mediation pages. - Sitush (talk) 19:05, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
- For example, see the discussion here. - Sitush (talk) 19:11, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
ANI notice
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. - Sitush (talk) 02:04, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- ColSodhi: please discuss issues on the talk page and reach consensus before making major changes to a controversial article. Please also refrain from making anything that could be perceived as a legal threat. Kevin Gorman (talk) 02:08, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
March 2014
[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on India Against Corruption. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
We do have a "softer" version of the above template but it is obvious to me that you are familiar with Wikipedia & thus I'm not messing around here. Discuss on the talk page, refrain from legal threats and take note of past discussions, as well as the open thread at WP:ANI of which you have recently been informed. You can't ignore all of this, although you seem to be trying to do so. Sitush (talk) 02:32, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Protection
[edit]ColSodhi: I've briefly fully protected India Against Corruption. If you would like to contribute productively, please discuss your desired changes on the talk page, refrain from making major edits until consensus has been established, and do not repeat anything that could be construed as a legal threat. Kevin Gorman (talk) 02:41, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- Having continued to violate WP:NLT, and displaying a pattern of behavior very similar to that of previously indefinitely blocked users, I have blocked you. Kevin Gorman (talk) 03:06, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
UNBLOCK

Request reason:
- There were no legal threats issued. The legal considerations of WP:LIBEL which is itself mentioned in the policy, at the very top. Additionally "impersonation and "fraud" are unacceptable violations of WMF policy/ToU.
- There is an ongoing discussion open at WP:ANI about this I wish to participate. The IP 70.36.142.114 has made some important points, which I want to correct / expand on. Sitush should not be allowed to repeatedly misuse ANI to chill discussion from IAC's side.
- "HRA1924" was a disclosed role account (disclosed from the very first day [1] for IAC and so could not legally accept responsibility for edits or accept unfair WMF Terms of Use as a "group".
- The same restrictions do not apply to individuals editing in their personal capacity.
- The important point to understand is only 1 editor from IAC edits Wikipedia at a time for this article. IAC, and its ambassadors to Wikipedia, does not SOCK and use multiple accounts for this article which bears our LEGAL name and is Libeling us and instead depicting IMPERSONATORS as IAC. ColSodhi (talk) 05:26, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Accusations of libel constitute legal threats. --jpgordon::==( o ) 05:54, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
