What makes you think that you can come on here with your racist views and facist opinions and insult my friends? It is an insult to Wikipedia that people like you are allowed to edit.
Kindest regards, Declan Bull -- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thedec (talk • contribs) 12:13, 2 May 2007 (UTC) Um, I believe that was not needed and unnecessary. I understand that you're upset, but please; don't drop the f bomb on a public page. Thanks, ''Meldshal42'' 00:59, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Paulo Loscava
[edit]A tag has been placed on Paulo Loscava, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Matthew_hk tc 16:38, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Blanking
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It would be appreciated if you would not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. IrishGuy talk 18:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Reverted Edits
[edit]I reverted your edits on the page Germany, because they didn't meet Wikipedia's standards. Thanks Meldshal42 {my talk page}20:26, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

I see you've found the userboxes :)
I also notice that the Williams article AfD has completed with a delete. I'm not surprised as there was nothing significantly notable in the article as it stood. I would suggest you take a look at WP:BIO which talks about biographic articles and highlights some points of notability. You can create a page in your own userspace to re-draft the article and get it up to scratch, assuming you can get it past the notability guidlines in the Bio information.
I'm away for a couple of weeks but it looks as if Nick mallory might be prepared to work it through with you.
In terms of the friction with people, I'm afraid that just happens in WP, it's very easy for disagreement to escalate, so I wouldn't worry about it. Just try to let it wash over you.
All the best
Hello, I reverted your edits to Cheshire as the addition did not add anything much beyond what was already there, and, indeed, duplicated parts of the same page. If you feel the addition would be useful, please pay attention to not duplicating information, and also place any new additions within the existing structure of the article if possible - for example, your additions would only have a chance of being useful (and that is not certain) if they were added to Demographics, as information about towns and villages in Cheshire is given elsewhere. Please also pay attention to providing adequate references and citations (WP:V, WP:CITE, WP:References) for any new additions you might consider making. DDStretch (talk) 22:14, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Same goes for the rest of your edits. WP:UK geo may be of interest for its guidelines on writing about UK geography. Thanks, Joe D (t) 23:25, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Afghanistan article
[edit]I reverted your recent edits in Afghanistan article. You did not explain your edits, you did not give any single source for what you modified and some of your edits were incorrect (i.e. putting Persian and Dari as two languages, changing the currency code from AFN to AFA, you update the population ranks to 2007 estimation, while 2007 has not yet been finished, but you brought back the GDP figures from 2006 to 2004). Please try to discuss your edits before you apply them, and it would be better to maintain a communication instead of starting an Edit War. You have already committed a 3RR violation. Thanks. -Ariana 09:47, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
The reason I did this, is because i edited them to the tune of the CIA world factbook. Can I change it back and i will put a reference? please (Cokes360 11:20, 7 June 2007 (UTC))
- The CIA world fact-book may not be entirely up to date, it's a form of Basic Intelligence but be careful of altering anything which already sourced. I'd endorse the suggestion that where you make a disputed edit discussion about it is better than other approaches.
- Can't fault your enthusiasm to contribute though :)

My user page
[edit]I appreciate your interest, but I intentionally had my user page deleted by an admin. I had been involved in a fairly contentious debate and found one user exploiting the information to try to pin down my location and hence, employer. Not comfortable. But in summary; I'm British, a Management Consultant, live in Southern England. In terms of sports I run, cycle, swim and play a bit of golf (badly) ALR 18:50, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Language articles
[edit]Hi. I noticed that you've been creating and editing lots of articles on languages (I presume the edits by 217.42.46.119 are yours too from when you haven't signed in). I wanted to ask if you could stop listing the number of speakers as "0.04 million (40,000)", for example. Just put 40,000 - there's no need for the millions figure if it's less than 1 million. Cordless Larry 18:58, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Citations
[edit]I've just been going through your edit history either trying to verify or needing to revert your edits because a lot of them involve changing numbers (e.g. population counts, GDP figures) without you giving sources for them. It would be useful if you could familiarise yourself with the referencing guidelines at WP:CITE, then you would save yourself from having your edits reverted. Cordless Larry 19:22, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- sorry, they are all from the CIA World Factbook : i'll add the ref next time (Cokes360 21:41, 16 June 2007 (UTC))
- The problem is that the CIA World Factbook isn't the recognised source for things like population on Wikipedia - the UN is. If you use CIA figures, then all the the country populations get out of sync with the list of countries by population. Ditto GDP, etc. Cordless Larry 22:29, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I'll leave it alone (sorry) (Cokes360 22:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC))
- No worries. Thanks. Cordless Larry 22:33, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
English language
[edit]I notice that you keep adding that the English language originated in the United Kingdom. The article states that it started in England, so when you add the UK, it reads something along the lines of "English is a language originating in the UK" followed by "originating in England". The "originating in England" is perfectly sufficient, particularly since the UK didn't exist when the English language originated, and the other constituent nations of what is now the UK have their own autochthonous languages. Cordless Larry 17:44, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- And please stop editing the article to claim precise numbers of speakers. Claiming that there are 308,486,580 first language English speakers is absolute statistical rubbish - people are being born and dying every second and it is nonsense to claim an exact figure, as anyone who has been taught statistics will tell you. It is only acceptable to claim a number of speakers with a margin of error of several tens of millions. -- Arwel (talk) 17:53, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, the same goes for Chinese language, Spanish language, etc. It's misleading to give the number of speakers to such a high degree of precision, since any claim is bound to be wrong. Best to accept that we can't ever know the exact number of speakers and instead give an approximation, making clear that that is what it is. Cordless Larry 18:16, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Zo'é language, by JackLumber (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Zo'é language fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Zo'é language, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Zo'é language itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 23:40, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
