Thank you for uploading File:100th infantry battalion.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

Warning against edit warring

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 442nd Infantry Regiment (United States). Fundamentally it comes down to this, you are writing like this is a magazine article, we are an encyclopedia, you have to write in a sober and neutral fashion. Content such as:

All three companies went into action boldly facing murderous fire from all types of weapons and tanks and at times fighting without artillery support….The stubborn desire of the men to close with a numerically superior enemy and the rapidity with which they fought enabled the 100th Infantry Battalion to destroy completely the right flank positions of a German Army….The fortitude and intrepidity displayed by the officers and men of the 100th Infantry Battalion reflects the finest traditions of the Army of the United States.

is a complete no-no, we simply do not write content in this way, we do not have sections like this in our articles. --Cameron Scott (talk) 22:01, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Then I guess to help me out, how would you write it? I'm not just some kid doing this at home while watching T.V. and doing this article just for fun, Im actually in an office getting paid working on this article for an organization and definitely not getting paid to just sit on my butt and not do anything. So please expain to me how this would be written then? This particular part that was pulled out was from a book and a direct quote. I am not here to make an arguement or anything like that, I just want to have everything run smoothly so this particular piece of the project I am working on for the Go For Broke National Education Center can be completed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Codycoytote (talk • contribs)

Write it without such colorful words as 'boldly', 'murderous', 'stubborn', 'desire', 'fortitude', 'intrepidity', 'finest', etc. If you choose to use such words, you will have to be quoting an expert observer by name. I sympathize with your task, but I have to say that Go For Broke appears naive regarding the difference between colorful prose acceptable for a coffee table book and neutral, serious prose acceptable for an encyclopedia. ok from this explanation you gave I do understand what you mean by not using such strong words. Now regarding to the strong words, is it ok if I use individual that was interviewed by Go For Broke and you him as an expert observer? All individuals interviewed were a part of 100th or 442nd and were a part of what happened in WWII.

On the defense for Go For Broke, the reason for the colorful prose is simply because of what Nisei individuals had to go through during WWII, especially after Pearl Harbor. They were immediately descriminated against, placed into internment camps, labeled as 4C enemy aliens, unable to defend the nation they grew up in, and were seen as less than human. The reason why this organization was created in the first place is based on the fact that soldiers of the 442nd fought for the United States even when the United States turned their back on them and placed their families into internment camps. The reason I used the quote above is because they were finally proving that they too were Americans and deserved the same equality.

You are right, it is an encyclopedia and not a one sided arguement. I will reread what I have put down and correct it.

I just looked at the Reliable sources/Noticeboard just to see if anybody has been talking. I will talk to my boss again later this week to see if there is a compiler or collector of information that I can put down. I do appreciate you discussing this with me. Wikipedia is relitively new to me when it comes to adding information and I do accept and appreciate the advice and help you are giving me.

Though I believe an organization such as yours may or may not fit into the profile of organizations on WP:GLAM, I thought I would make you aware of Wikipedia policy on Conflict of Interest.
