From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Looking at the Wikipedia entry on Walt Whitman, I completely agree with your assessment. There’s a really impressive level of detail in the article. It’s interesting that Britannica didn’t delve into Whitman’s sexuality as deeply as Wikipedia did. This seems to pop up a lot when comparing Wikipedia to other encyclopaedias – Wikipedia always seems to have more information regarding the personal lives of public figures.

Other than a few minor typos (which I know are so difficult to avoid when you’re trying to format on Wikipedia – when I was posting my assignment, I found that as soon as I’d figured out the HTML on something, I’d accidentally deleted something else from the sentence), great analysis! Wikipedia Education Program: student survey!

[edit]

Hi! I work with the Wikipedia Education Program, and I'm hoping to get your feedback about your experience this semester! In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it would be very helpful to hear from real program students about their experience, so we know what to change. The survey takes no more than 10 minutes, and I'd really appreciate your response!

Thanks so much! JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 20:52, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
