Why can I not edit pages? I made a constructive edit to tipu sultan that I believe to be true now my editing powers have gone. I think. If they haven't then where is the edit button?
- I'm assuming you have found a protected page that you would like to edit. These pages are often protected as people had been inserting nonsense/jibberish into them and it was becoming a pain to clean up and fix. If you click on the "view source" link at the top of the page where the "edit" link should have been, the page should reload and offer you a button to Request an edit, which you should click if you have some constructive material to contribute to the article. When you do this, you will be taken to the talk page for the article and an edit box will show up with some stuff preloaded in it for you. Just edit in the white space between the two HTML comments as instructed detailing exactly what you want to be changed, why you want it changed, and offereing any reliable sources you have to back up your request if applicable. The more detail you offer, and the less the person responding has to think about the request, the more likely it is to get carried out for you, and the quicker that will happen... Good luck and happy editing! — {{U|Technical 13}} (t • e • c) 19:13, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
