John Adams

[edit]

You have recently created the article John Adams, Sr.. This was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not recreate the article: if you disagree with the article's deletion, you may ask for a review at Wikipedia:Deletion review.—WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALKEMAIL 00:41, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I tagged it for deletion because it wasn't apparent to me that he had done anything notable other than sire a future president out of the 3, 4 maybe I can't remember, children that he had. I didn't think that the article would ever expand much beyond what was already covered in the John Adams article. I'm not actually able to delete articles as I am not an admin. This means that an admin agreed with me and deleted it twice. The second time you recreated it, you added more information. What I ended up doing is merging the only thing in your article that I didn't find in John Adams into the Early life section, specifically the birth and death years of Sr. Currently, the article you created redirects to John Adams. If you think you can write an article that is more than a stub about Sr., then you may follow this link and write it up. I just don't think there is much to say about him that isn't adequately covered in the article on Jr., but I have been wrong before.—WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALKEMAIL 03:46, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. If you can write up a bio on him, by all means do so. Just follow the link above. —WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALKEMAIL 01:50, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They all look good. Could you add the source of your information? When writing stubs it is generally very helpful to give a reference as a jumping off point for further expansion. —WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALKEMAIL 01:04, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Images

[edit]

I have pasted my more comprehensive welcome message below. It should provide links to just about anything you would have questions about, including images.

...Here are some tips for navigating Wikipedia:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. There are also the help pages for self-help and the village pump and IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance. You should also feel free to ask me on my Talk page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes(~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Please do not add this signature to encyclopedia articles you may edit, however, even if you have created them. Wikipedia articles are owned by the community, not by any one person. Again, welcome! —WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALKEMAIL 04:15, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This notice is to inform you that because many people have added their names to Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon#Participants but do not seem to be active, all names are being deleted in an effort to find out who is still truly interested in the project. All you have to do is re-add your name if you'd still like to be considered a member of WP:POKE. Speedy deletion of Smooth Softshell turtle

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Smooth Softshell turtle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. LAAFan 02:39, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In response to question

[edit]

The reason the tag is gone because another user optioned against my decision (which is fine). However, I still do not feel right about the page. Would you be willing to expand it, maybe give it a reference or external link? I know that you are a new user, so, if you want, let me know if you want me to help you with that. I would be glad to. If you have any more questions or comments, feel free to contact me.--LAAFan 03:14, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of India (cat)

[edit]

I have nominated India (cat), an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/India (cat) (3rd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Robert De Niro, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Alansohn (talk) 04:08, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2005–06 Washington Huskies men's basketball team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Berkeley. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
