Wiki Beijing reply
[edit]Hi! How are you! First of all, if you really want to help contributing about the economy of Beijing, be sure to improve it in the "economy section". The lead paragraphs are only suppose to be a brief generalized summary of Beijing, specific details about industrial production and GDP need not apply (it is already quite long).
Secondly, the sources you puted on my talk page, are two Chinese language web links, http://www.china.com.cn/economic/txt/2008-03/20/content_13178335.htm, http://zhengwu.beijing.gov.cn/xwfbh/bmqxfbh/t989438.htm. Since this is English Wikipedia, English language sources are generally preferred, as many editors can't verify these Chinese language sources. In addition, more academic and perhaps non-governmental, official statistics would be good as well, as it provides third-party assessment.
Thirdly, are the pictures you uploaded to Wikipedia of "credible origin"? I really want to ask you this question because in the past there have been some users uploading a whole bunch of pictures onto the Beijing article, and although they are beautiful, those pictures were copyrighted and it seems like the users simply lifed them out of other websites. These photos were deleted in less than a few weeks and me and other editors had to quickly find replacement photos for the article. So, you did take these picutres yourself right? Or at least they are free photos??? Because if it is found out they are copyrighted, they will be "Deleted"!--TheLeopard (talk) 16:18, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- If you really want to expand on Beijing's economy, and you think you have extensive knowledge and information on this topic (again, good and credible sources are important), you can create article "Economy of Beijing" on Wikipedia, and that way you can really elaborate on all the details on this topic!
- Also, your photos looks really beautiful and slick, almost "magazine-like", that is why I had a hard time believing it was self-made. But if its your original work, that is great and kudos to your skill.
- I think we can really use some great photos of historic sites in Beijing, like photos for Prince Gong Mansion and some pictures of notable siheyuans and historic streets in Beijing. Do you have pictures like that? If you have photos for sites like Prince Chun Mansion or any of the temples or gardens in Beijing, please let me know, and I'll start write articles on them once I gather up information and photos. Do you live in Beijing btw?--TheLeopard (talk) 19:32, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm just a regular contributor at Wikipedia, so no, I don't work full time here, LOL. Although I've been contributing on Wikipedia since 2005. Everyone on here is a contributor, but do please contribute and write quality contents and know the manual guideline on Wikipedia. I started editing Beijing because the article's condition was quite terrible (a lot of grammatical mistakes and unsourced statements) and much needs to be improved on the article. BTW, talk page is not for chatting, so if you want to chat, leave your email address on my talk page (I'll erase it after see it). Thanks!--TheLeopard (talk) 01:25, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
