Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Cmmkt, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:47, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Cooler Master. Your edits continue to appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Cooler Master was changed by Cmmkt (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.866314 on 2016-03-09T04:28:54+00:00 .

Updating Cooler Master article

[edit]

We are trying to update Cooler Master Wikipedia page to reflect the information as cited on coolermaster.com "Cooler Master has split into two companies. This website is for consumer products of Cooler Master Technology Inc. For OEM/ODM products please go to Cooler Master Co. Ltd."

The current Wikipedia page is for Cooler Master Co. Ltd. However, there are some other details that are held by Cooler Master Technology Inc. This change was not reflected in 2013. Although a bit delayed - we would like to make this changes as below:

In 2013, Cooler Master has split into two companies; Cooler Master Technology Inc. is for consumer products, and Cooler Master Co., Ltd is for OEM/ODM products. Cooler Master Co., Ltd current business encompasses a comprehensive lineup of thermal solutions for a full range of applications. Its products range from heat sinks and fans to component housing, chassis, and ducting for computers, industrial machinery, telecommunications equipment, and many other devices

Additionally - we would like to make some changes to reflect the correct information such as adding Cooler Master Co. Ltd. as the header. We will make a new Wiki page for Cooler Master Technology Inc. What is the best way to make this possible?

Thank you. Cmmkt (talk) 04:08, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

CM MKT.

Hi Cmmkt. I'll try to answer some of your questions. The first thing I suggest is that you take a close look at Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Since you are connected to Cooler Master, you are considered to have a conflict of interest. COI editing is not prohibited on Wikipedia, but it is something that is highly discourage because it can be hard for someone connected to the subject of an article to write about it in a neutral way. A company's interest in promoting itself or its products do not really mesh with Wikipedia's goal of reflecting what independent, reliable sources say about something in a non-promotional manner. The next you should try and understand is that Wikipedia articles are not owned by the subjects they are about or the editors who edit/create them. Anything you add to the article may be removed by another editor if they feel it's not in accordance with Wikipedia's various policies and guidelines. The same applies to any editor, but others may be more critical of you edits since you have a COI. If you correct a spelling mistake, markup error or anything considered to be a minor edit by Wikipedia, then nobody is going to probably say anything. Anything else, however, may draw the attention of other more experienced editors. You get no special privileges or final editorial control over the content of the article just because its about your company (see Wikipedia's law of unintended consequences for reference). That is why it is strongly suggested that COI editors declare their conflict of interest and use the article's talk page to discuss any (major) changes to the article so that other unconnected editors may review them first. Go to Talk:Cooler Master and add posts about the changes you would like to make to the article. Other editors watching the page will review them in time and decide if what you propose complies with relevant polices and guidelines. It make take a while to get a response, so you just have to be patient and follow the steps for engagement. Also, instead of making one long post suggesting lots of changes, I suggest you break things down by topic to make then easier to discuss. Just create a new section on the article's talk page for each topic.
Finally, you should not try and create a new article for your company. The name of the existing article can be changed if needed and if there's a consensus to do so. Creating another article just creates unnecessary problems and is likely going to lead to your new version being speedily deleted per WP:A10. If you want to request that the name of the article be changed from "Cooler Master" to "Cooler Master Technology Inc." then please do so at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Just follow the instructions and post your request. Someone familiar with the technical aspects of page moving will look at your request, assess it, and make the move if they feel it's necessary to do. Good luck. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:06, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
