Women's education in Iran

[edit]

Hi, Cmhofley. Dr. Strassmann mentioned you were working on a new article in an area where we've got some existing ones (Higher education in Iran, Iranian gender restrictions in education) which may need to be expanded or merged as a consequence. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about this process but here's my broad suggestion:

  1. When you're ready, create the article Women's education in Iran.
  2. In Higher education in Iran, summarize that article in a few paragraphs (or as many as seem appropriate for the topic). You may want to look at Women in Iran or Women's rights in Iran as other places where a context specific summary might improve the article (though the latter has a more comprehensive summary). You certainly don't need to do this for every related article! But there are many closely interlinked or related articles on the topic and some may be worth editing/adding a sentence to some of them.
  3. Propose a merge of Iranian gender restrictions in education into your article, provided there isn't, when you're done writing the article, a good reason it should remain standalone. I can help you this this and it's really much less fiddly than it looks. Don't hesitate to email me when you get to this point.

I hope this helps. As I mentioned feel free to email me (adam@wikiedu.org) or reply here or on my talk page if you have questions or need a hand. Adam (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:54, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adam! Thanks so much for this feedback. I created a new article, Women's Education in Iran, and have been expanding the content that would be in addition to the existing content left in the Iranian gender restrictions in education article. I currently just have the sections in the new Article I would want to pull that content into, and am wondering if you think I should pull that content in now or wait. I have avoided writing about those topics for now since there is content in the Iranian gender restrictions article, but dont want to leave it blank for too long. Thanks again!
