The new material on development is quite nice and very welcome. I do suggest, though, that some changes are needed. Formatting of the page needs to be brought into conformity with Wikipedia practice. Also, this reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article and needs some editing. There are too many passages in quotation marks (some of which are unattributed); most of these should be paraphrased, to convey similar information in different words. Where appropriate, footnotes should be used to cite sources for particular pieces of information. Passages like "the mechanism of the clarinet was not brought to its full potential until the mid-1800s when the Boehm system clarinet was created" are statements of opinion, not universally accepted (e.g. German clarinetists do not regard the Boehm system as the sine qua non of clarinet design, and numerous attempts to improve the Boehm system attest to its not being regarded by everyone as bringing the clarinet to its "full potential") and are out of place in a Wikipedia article. Finally, the summary section isn't necessary.
Once again, thanks for the new material! -- Rsholmes 00:11, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
