Prof Garcia's Comments

Week 2

[edit]

Marlon, what happened with the other assignment for this week? Your task was to answer the questions about the content gap on your sandbox page (which you did) but also to evaluate an article of your choosing. You only answered the questions for this week - what happened? Alfgarciamora (talk) 20:06, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2/3/17 Good morning Professor Garcia, I was surprised that I got a 0.5/1 points because I thought I had completed all my tasks for week 2. After I read your comment I realized I didn't evaluate an article so next time I will make sure to read your assignments more carefully and thorough. On another note, I just finished my assignments for week 3 and I will greatly appreciate it if you can make sure I did them correctly before they are due. That way if I made a mistake I can fix them. Best regards, @Alfgarciamora:

Hi @Clydetheglide9: Well done here. I see that you have added a great citation to the page on David - well done! Please go back to the timeline and read the instructions for the second half of the assignment. You will have to choose a page to edit for grammar, punctuation, and other things like that. Once you finish that part of the assignment, you will be good to go! Please do not forget to sign off your posts on talk pages with four "~". Hi @Clydetheglide9:. Great job on this week's assignment. I see you have a very wikipedia-friendly structure going. I do however, think you should consider your placement of the "legacy" section. Might it come after years of success? A legacy seems like a more important note to end an article than success does. I appreciate how you've split up the sections to include his interaction with art and the renaissance. Your sources seem reliable and scholarly, so critiques there! I would consider extending the lead section (as I'm sure you're already working on) and include more information on his birth, birthplace, family relations, and general ideologies. I would also rearrange the wording of the existing text in the lead section, as it seems a bit awkward toward the end. I don't know much about your assigned figure but I would consider a section with respect to politics and his views of the time. Overall, great structure and off to a great start. I can see you've already gathered a hefty set of citations to dive headfirst into improving the article. As long as you maintain this clear structure and the neutrality of your writing, the article should be a great read :)Lrive133 (talk) 02:45, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Week 8

[edit]

Wow, Clydetheglide9, you have done an AMAZING job with this project! I am so impressed with your work and am proud of you!!! Well done! I think that you are good to go with the research and writing. Now you just have to go back and make sure everything is correct, cited, that it flows, that it is encyclopedic in tone, etc. Have somebody in the class give your page a read to see what they think. But well done, Marlon. You have really shined with this project. =) Alfgarciamora (talk) 17:18, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
