[edit]Please don't use uncivil edit summaries. If you want to challenge the veracity of something, you can use a {{fact}} tag to request it be cited. From my own knowledge of the area and the period of history, I do not find it at all unreasonable to point out that drunkenness was rife there at the time. It still is now. --John 01:57, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- And it was by no means confined to the Irish (or to Celts in general). The social history of the time makes it quite clear that the abuse of liquor was a common strategy for "escape" from the life of the most desperately poor. --Orange Mike 19:46, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Category: Cities in Ireland
[edit]Hi Cloigeann. The relevant major cities of Ireland are already categorised under Category:Cities in the Republic of Ireland and Cities in Northern Ireland - both of which are sub-categories of Category:Cities in Ireland. It is therefore redundant to "re-list" these cities under the parent category. Cheers. Guliolopez (talk) 14:00, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
