help with disambiguationHi! I'm attempting to put together my first disambiguation page. Would you mind taking a look at it and making suggestions? It is unclear to me whether the page should be called Tbt, TBT, or Tbt (disambiguation). It is also unclear to me what to do with the fact that TBT currently redirects to Tributyltin. Thanks in advance for your help! --Keesiewonder talk 00:03, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

I've removed Image:Last.fm Player.png from User:ClockworkSoul/userpage/panel right, as it is a copyrighted, unlicensed image that is being used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Unfortunately, by Wikipedia policies, no fair-use images can be used on user pages; please see the ninth item of the Wikipedia fair-use policy and Wikipedia:Removal of fair use images. This image has not been deleted from any articles. If you have any questions, please let me know. —Bkell (talk) 03:49, 22 March 2007 (UTC) Help with sourcing an articleHello Clockwork, I have a bit of a request and I am writing to you as when I first joined you left a rather kind message on my talk page welcoming me. I am interested in doing some work on the black tie article, as it is an area I know a good deal about but there are a few obstacles as this is trickier than the average article. There is currently a message at the top claiming that the article is unsourced. This message is fair enough but the issue with black tie is that as it is a form of dress, and hence subjective. Black tie is a dress style for which most experts agree on most of the base rules, especially in Britain where this dress form originated. However, this does not stop it from being subjective and using any particular source would seem a bit wrong to me. Hence, my first question is; do we really need to source all the information on this page? Someone has suggested a certain site, and I agree that this site www.blacktieguide.com is suitable; it is written by expeerts and takes into account differing views while reinforcing the expert view. The site appears to be written by someone who has done a fair bit of research into black tie. My next question, contingent on the answer to the first being "yes", is how do I claim this site as a source? There are several disparate sentences in the article for which the source would ideally be listed as this site (I don't think the site was actually the source of any of it, but the site agrees with the current Wikipedia article, which should provide comfort that the current Wikipedia article is accurate). Having several of the type of links that are usually used in Wikipedia articles would seem rather ridiculous as they would all link to the same site. As at right now I have included a link to the site in a section at the bottom called "External Links". Do you think this is sufficient. I genuinely can't think of any other way to legitimately include the links. Thanks!!--Zoso Jade 22:20, 22 March 2007 (UTC) USERPAGEHey, I really like your userpage, and would like to use it with your permission. Adding categories of proteinsHi, for the biology project, can you please add a category for Phosphatases? I'd organize it as follows: Phosphatases: main section sub-sections then on: Protein phosphatases: tyrosine phosphatases, serine-threonine phosphatases, mixed phosphatases Lipid phosphatases: inositol phosphatases let me know if you have any questions... thanks for your work on this project... but don't forget your PhD is more important!!! I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 16:57, 16 May 2007 (UTC) Unspecified source for Image:CityBrewery.jpgThanks for uploading Image:CityBrewery.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged. As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:57, 16 May 2007 (UTC). Stanley KubrickClockworkSoul, I am wondering if you could please help me. I think your name is fortuitous for this subject matter. Someone -- I have no idea who -- added my webpage to the Eyes Wide Shut wiki page [2] over a year ago, and since that time I have been receiving hits from over 50 countries a month. It is a scholarly site, with no promotion for me or for anything that can be sold. I have repeatedly received accolades from students and scholars alike. Now, after I (I suppose wrongly, and I accept that, I suppose)added one more link to the general Stanley Kubrick page, a wikipedia editor named MarnetteD has now removed my link from the Eyes Wide Shut site (and from other sites as well which have nothing to do with Stanley Kubrick), and I am sad and distressed about it. All I ask is for everything to be put back to normal prior to the last (wrongly or otherwise, but I will accept wrongly) link I added to the general Stanley Kubrick page. Why do I have to be punished across the board for a mistake? I think this editor is extremely unreasonable, and I hope that an impartial judge will see that my website can only enhance the Eyes Wide Shut page. I was doubly distressed because MarnetteD's comments included grammatical errors, which automatically, to me at least, revealed a lack of capacity to properly judge what is properly academic and what is not. (Having now seen other of MarnetteD's work, I can present a longer list of this editor's grammatical errors, if asked.) I feel I have been done a great injustice, and I hope an impartial judge can set this straight. Thank you for considering my proposal. Scrooby 01:51, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
copyright concernHi, I hope I have this figured out right. Somebody downloaded a picture of a Brazilian wandering spider. I wanted to put it on Commons. You (?) said that you had received permission to post it on the English Wikipedia only. I see it has been removed from the article in English on this species, but it has also been loaded onto Commons and ownership is claimed by someone called Aram33. (Brazilian-wandering-spider.jpg) If it was indeed you who originally put it up, you will perhaps know the identity of the true owner of this photo. Just in case the real owner has decided to call himself Aram33 and upload it himself, I have refrained from blowing any whistles over at the Commons. Thanks. SnowFire interest in Albigensian Crusade pageHaving discussed the withdrawal of GA with LuciferMorgan, I give notice that I am sitting down with the three classic original source texts (Puylaurens, Vaux-de-Cernay and de Tudèle - the last in the Livre de Poche edition as the Martin-Chabot is long out of print) to add the missing inline citations to this page. I do not intend at this point to make any textual alterations, but if comments are made which are NOT justified, be prepared to state your sources now. Jel 16:36, 12 October 2007 (UTC) Just being polite 'cos it's a fairly important historical subject: if, as I suppose, you're not interested, please ignore and delete this conversation: it was because you posted to the page, and it can happen that somebody quite authoritative none the less doesn't feel the need to adjust anything on what's at the moment a fairly objective report. I'm just trying not to appear to commandeer the site, whilst bringing its citations up to standard, which given the shortage of source data shouldn't be rocket science. The reason for not posting to the discussion page is that the GA group posted a request there and nobody reacted, so the site's obviously orphaned.Jel 20:11, 12 October 2007 (UTC) Signpost updated for October 15th, 2007.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dogfishhead.gifThanks for uploading Image:Dogfishhead.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:27, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Ralbot (talk) 07:44, 6 February 2008 (UTC) Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pittsburgh brewing.gif)Thanks for uploading Image:Pittsburgh brewing.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
