Note on interviews as sources
[edit]I thought I'd leave this note when I came across your comment re Draft:Weatherday: "As I understand it, the reason Rateyourmusic can't be used as a source is because the content is user generated. However this link is to an interview with the artist Weatherday which was conducted by the website staff.
" Interviews are generally considered primary sources (i.e. not as reliable as secondary sources for many things). Essentially, the interviewer is giving the person a platform to speak for themselves, so it's as good as if the person had published it themselves (primary). This isn't to say that interviews can't be used as sources, and I didn't examine the draft history enough to see how it was being used. Sources can be nuanced and tricky, so I just wanted to make you aware of how interviews in general might be challenged as a reliable source, depending on how they're being used.
