[edit]Treatment is difficult because of the anosognosia that the patient is experiencing with the aphasia.[9] For this reason, therapists often use a contextual approach which can increase speech comprehension from 2% to 90%.[10]

For pointing also look at Goldin-Meadow's work with Meredith Rowe (and others) looking at how the acquisition of pointing predicts lexical development.
