Winter War
[edit]Hello Cinik. The Winter War is actually not generally considered a part of World War II. At the time, while the war had started, neither the Soviet Union nor Finland were part of the Germany's war against Franco-British forces. Oberiko 13:02, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- I cannot agree. Soviet union was an ally of Germany at that time and its aggressive expansion cannot be separated from the WW2. Cinik 14:44, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- It is the general consensous right now. Until you provide specific references that state the Winter War was part of World War II (and not a contemporary war like the Chinese Civil War) then you can't really change it. I could just as quickly counter your Soviet use by stating that France and Britain, the Allies at the time, were not involved. Do you believe that Finland was part of the Allies and the Soviet's were part of the Axis Powers? Oberiko 16:41, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Soviet union was an ally of Axis in this time. First part of WWII was expansion of Germany and SU. Cinik 03:47, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
Vandal impersonating you
[edit]Take a look at this fellow and his contributions. Maybe someone doesn't like you. flammifertalk 16:45, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hem, in my precipitation, I seemed to have accidentily filed a vandal warning about you :P Fixed now, I hope you didn't get banned in the meantime :) flammifertalk 17:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, of course, I am not Cynik. Would it be possible to do something with this vanndal? Cinik 17:06, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not an administrator, but he'll probably get blocked in not too long. He's listed in the blatant vandals, admins check those regularly. flammifertalk 17:12, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Re:I search help
[edit]Hi there, unfortunately I no longer live in St. Catharines...so I won't be able to take any pictures for you of the Kristen French memorial. It's too bad because the site is really beautiful. Good luck with your article! Trappy 03:20, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Your request on WikiProject Ontario
[edit]I've moved a request you made in August on WikiProject Ontario to the talk page (see diff). I wanted to mention that you may have better luck asking on the Canada notice board discussion page, which is more widely read (the Ontario project is barely active right now). I hope somebody can help you. Mindmatrix 02:02, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

I have protected your user page. The last vandalism is probably unrelated to the vandal with a grudge (the IP address doesn't match), I assume he just saw a vandalized revision in the history and reverted to it. - Mike Rosoft 20:39, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Your AIV report on Hadilen
[edit]Thank you for making a report in respect of Hadilen (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thanks. Sandstein 21:38, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- They hadn't been warned recently or with a final warning. John Reaves (talk) 12:49, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Being a victim is not notable. The article needs to do a much better job in proving that she is encyclopedic (WP:BIO), or that the case indeed impacted Polish education system. PS. Thanks for your comment in new articles, but it will be read by more if you drop it at talk of WP:PWNB.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 17:52, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- As I see, I thing, it will be very funny, if I and You will be only members of disputation... :o) What will be outcome, if score is 1:1? --Cinik 09:43, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- And IMHO encyclopedic is here case, not she. But I thing, that Anna Halman is better as Gdansk tragedy or Suicide of Ania or something others. --Cinik 09:46, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please note that replies should be given/copied to other user's talk pages so they are aware of it. In 1:1 case it'll probably be relisted for further discussion. Personally I think that this may be notable in article on education in Poland or after some renaming and rewriting as article about an event, but the person is not notable (consider Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Angelika Kluk).-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 16:44, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Hello! Thank you for the message. I've seen your Anna Halman article in Czech Wikipedia. In Poland, official court decisions on criminal cases are rarely get published, because they could be appealed and could be not final ones. I see you have already found blog in memoriam - http://pamieci-ani.blog.pl/. Here is AfD in Polish Wikipedia http://pl.wikipedia.opiskatalnet.info/wiki/Wikipedia:SDU/Anna_Halman. Recent contributions in User:Talk namespace
About author 71.99., I do believe that there has no significant reason to write on his talk page posts like [3]. Significant is, to report him to WP:AIV (his IP as {{Vandal|xxx}}). I do not know it sure, but I personally don't think that he will talk with us. --Aktron (t|c) 11:31, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- The following editor, 71.99.126.95 (talk · contribs) was reported to AIV for wikistalking and reverting your edits. We have now rolled back their changes and I have blocked the IP address for 48 hours. Please let us know if this guy harasses you any further - Alison ☺ 04:48, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
A question
[edit]Because I'm watching the 71.99. user's editions, I also have to watch yours. I would like to know where is problem with user Zacheus (surely that I know who is it :-) ). I also do not understand the merging request that he posted on the Ania Halman article. But if the article survived the VfD, I can see no reason for merging.
--Aktron (t|c) 15:48, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please, sent your statenetn on talk of suicide. Mergin request is nonsense, of cours, only usual provocation.
- Když tak to napiš na diskusi u sebevraždy. Ten požadavek je naprosto nesmyslný, že to nemůže nijak projít - prostě čistá provokoce - ten pán už dávno nic jinýho neumí... :-) --Cinik 15:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Prague Spring for FA?
[edit]Dobry den, Cinik:
I don't think many people saw my message on the Czech WikiProject talk page, so now I'm writing to people individually. ;-) I have an idea to share with you: last year, a group of editors (in which I participated) turned Hungarian Revolution of 1956 from an utter worthless mess into an excellent Featured Article, and got it on the Main Page on the 50th anniversary of the uprising. With the 40th anniversary of 1968 coming up next spring, I would love to repeat that success with Prague Spring. I know it's a long time until the actual anniversary, but the sooner we start, the better. (It got pretty hectic with 56, we started in August and the anniversary was in October, which led to a mad dash to the finish--we barely made it.) Would you be interested in working on this? K. Anna Halman deletion
[edit]Rewrite this article not using name of the child. "Anna H." will suffice. And publish it again. Start with something like that: A fourteen year old schoolgirl from a Polish Junior High in Gdansk, Anna H., after being raped gangsta style in her classroom by five classmates without any interference from the other schoolmates while the class was without teacher supervision, has committed suicide after returning home. This event made the nationwide news and challenged the minister of Education, Roman Giertych, into a crusade against violence in schools." Omit details like exact Ania's date of birth. A lot about politics and Giertych and about that laughingstock court case after which perpetrators practically walked. You can make it, Ignac, you've already survived one AfD. If you do I'll award you a Dilligence Barnstar (meaning Endurance). And think about new title for the article, something like "People vs Anna H.". greg park avenue 01:44, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Anonymous user reverting your interlanguage links
[edit]I noticed an anonymous user has un-done many of the interlanguage links you created - see here. I don't know any Czech, and don't know if there is a good reason for these changes, but I thought you should know. I would be happy to help if this anonymous person is causing a problem. Proposed deletion of Paul Marx (priest)
[edit]The article Paul Marx (priest) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The organizations he founded may be notable, but he does not meet general notability requriements
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Meatsgains (talk) 14:43, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
battle numbers
[edit]Just as the Mongols destroyed opposing forces three and sometimes four times their own number by superior organization & battle tactics, so the Ottoman Turk forces were destroyed in mass by the Europeans at Zenta. There are many scholarly books and papers supporting this. In WWII, the Russians often lost 6 to 1 against the German war machine - for a while.50.111.29.1 (talk) 18:56, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
