[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page V-42 Stiletto has been reverted.
Your edit here to V-42 Stiletto was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqtRy8wHDag&hd=1) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Joint Task Force 2 do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Robert T. Frederick. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Robert T. Frederick with this edit. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. This is your last warning; the next time you harm Wikipedia, as you did at List of daggers with this edit, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Request reason:
My name is Ryan Rushing. My father is a retired Green Beret and wrote a song for the First Special Service Force. It's called The V-42. It's about the V-42, The Devil's Brigade, Col. Robert Fredrick, FSSF and the Canadian Special Force. This video was dedicated to the officers of the FSSF and all the Green Berets. It was shown at FORT BRAGG on Monday. Among the people present were 3 and 4 star Generals....I am not spamming....I've never used the edit option before on Wikipedia....I'm totally new at this. These edits were made only to link the video where people who were looking up this subject matter would view the link among the other links. The post of this video is not for money making purposes...it's only to honor the soldiers. I hope in reading this, you will restore my edits. I feel this block was uncalled for....I hope you feel the same. Thank you for your help in this matter. Ryan (Cinemulsion) Cinemulsion (talk) 22:06, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information.
Adding external links is SPAM in Wikipedia (with minor exceptions), the idea is to give the reader the data here, not direct him/her off to some remote site - especially YouTube, as copyright is never clear. It does not matter if the link for for money making or not, that's not WP's definition of SPAM. If you have the copyright of the video, there was nothing stopping you from converting it to a suitable format and uploading it to WP, and put the video on an appropriate article (just like one would do with a picture). If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- This was already reviewed by the time I sent a reply to your email, but as promised...
- I believe you may be some misunderstanding as to the purpose of Wikipedia. While we do not intend to disparage your work, that of your father, or of the soldiers he honors with his song by removing your links to the song, Wikipedia is first and foremost an online encyclopedia. While we do appreciate receiving a broad range of information, there is some content that our community has determined to be inappropriate for Wikipedia. For example, Wikipedia does not exist to be a memorial site; while we do have articles about wars and battles and honored soldiers, these articles are presented in an academic, neutral manner rather than as a testament to their achievements. We also prefer to avoid linking to sites that do not further the reader's knowledge of a subject. Any external links should ideally provide additional encyclopedic information or support the information we have already included in the article. The vast majority of YouTube videos do not serve this purpose. You can review our full policy on external linking here.
- If you have any questions about this, please let us know and we'll try to help. This block is a temporary one, and we look forward to having you back to editing again to help us build a more complete encyclopedia. Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:44, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
