Soviet Russia

To prevent an editing war, I'm going to clear up some information for you: Soviet Russia, in the Russia article, refers to the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. This is NOT the same as the Soviet Union. Soviet Russia was simply the largest republic in the Soviet Union, and it essentially includes the land we know of as Russia today. The Soviet Union incorporates a lot more land, such as the land we know of as Ukraine today. And yes, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic was commonly referred to as Soviet Russia. The most famous use of it in popular culture would probably be Yakov Smirnoff. He was born in Ukraine while it was still part of the Soviet Union, and is responsible for the "in Soviet Russia..." jokes. ~Ttony21^{(talk, contribs)} 22:50, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Even if you know all of this, and none of the information is new to you, I understand that this may not be a common term used by Russians. But it is the simplest way to differentiate between "modern Russia", the entire Soviet Union, and the Russian republic during the Soviet Union. The term may not be technically correct, but it exists out of popular culture and thus makes the most sense to the reader. Perhaps you'd like to clear this up in the section if you see fit, but please try to avoid an editing war, thank you :) ~Ttony21^{(talk, contribs)} 22:57, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Update - Since it was changed yet again, and I've done some more research into it, I've decided not to change it back in hopes that it stays as is. If it gets changed again, it needs to go to the discussion page for the article.
