Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Christopher barrow!

I hope you like it here and stick around. If you like, you can leave a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself.

Before you start doing a lot of editing, you might want to take the Tutorial. It gives lots of basic information to help you to get oriented on Wikipedia.

You can sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp. If you have any other questions about the project, then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Help desk. Alternately, you may choose to send a message to my talk page.

Happy editing! Yuser31415@? 04:55, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The animal four, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to provide more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:The animal four. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such material. Please do not repost this material. It is more appropriate on a personal website or a Myspace page than an encyclopedia. Reposting is considered vandalism and can lead to you being blocked from editing for a period of time. (aeropagitica) 06:08, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia may not be sufficiently well-known to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers, and encourages them to become Wikipedians. On Wikipedia, all users are entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects. --Icarus (Hi!) 06:19, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be having some trouble, Christopher, so I'd like to give you some pointers that might help you out. You can take them or leave them, as you wish. However, if you want to become a helpful contributor to Wikipedia, and I have the sense that you do, you should consider these thoughts. First and foremost, since you created two articles on the topic "worst case scenario," you should thoroughly research Wikipedia to make sure such articles do not already exist---this saves you time in creating new articles, and it saves other editors and administrators time deleting them. There are a lot of articles on Wikipedia, as I am sure you know, so a little investigation is a good first step. Second, I recommed writing the article in a word processing program first (I use, and recommend, Google Docs & Spreadsheets), so that you can check for errors in spelling and grammar before posting. I also recommend using the sandbox ([[1]]) for experimenting before creating the actual article you intend to post. A third option that might work well for you, because it provides a mentor of sorts to help you along, is to request to be adopted by another user. This is a fairly recent development on Wikipedia, and it offers new editors the opportunity to be guided by editors and administrators who have a lot more experience. I hope these ideas help. You can always check in with me if you have questions. Cheers! ---Charles 05:07, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Christopher, Hello! I have removed the short story from your Userpage as you aren't supposed to use that page to host speedily deleted material. It was a repost of an article that I deleted a few days ago. You can read WP:USERNAME for details about what you can and can't have on your Userpage. You can keep the story on a disk/USB memory stick, etc. but it can't be posted on to Wikipedia as it isn't encyclopedic, sorry. Why not put it on a personal website/Myspace instead?
