History of Jews in Ukraine

[edit]

Please do not create article forks by pasting material from one article into a new one. If the article's section warants a new article for a material it covers, it is a good idea to first suggest so at the article's talk and see what other's think. After that, when you paste, alnowledge in the summary what text from what article you used. Otherwise, it is a copyvio even for a liberal GFDL, which allows reuse but requires and attribution to the original author(s). If everyone starts splitting articles, it will be a mess. I am not saying it is always a bad idea. We've split some articles in the past. All I am saying is that we should not do it on the whim. Asking others is never harmful. --Irpen 22:30, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Just stopped by again to tell you that I also find nazism, any kind of nationalism and any kind of phobia repugnant. I just expressed my opinion regarding the Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia is not a forum to push any views, even the most honorable ones. I hope I did not offend you in any way. Please stay around and you will get a feel how things work or feel free to ask me. --Irpen 22:47, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

History of the Jews in Latvia

[edit]

Would you care to explain why the betar symbol appears on the page on latvian Jews, even though the movement is not mentioned in the article? Please either make a connection or remove the image. Ayinyud 14:05, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Stepan Petrichenko.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stepan Petrichenko.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:06, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Stepan Petrichenko.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stepan Petrichenko.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 22:57, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ruthenia

[edit]

STOP adding links to the Category "Ruthenia" in non-Ruthenian-specific articles. "Proto-Slavic language" and "Old Church Slavonic" cover periods long before the development of a distinct Ruthenian language or identity. CRCulver 14:43, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

All right, but they are connected.--Christofor 14:46, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Everything's connected somehow. But what you are doing isn't how the Category system is supposed to work. CRCulver 14:47, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK.--Christofor 14:48, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spamming

[edit]

Please stop doing this or this. If disruption continues, your pet category will be deleted. Regards, Ghirla -трёп- 13:51, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Kalinowski family

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Kalinowski family, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Lack of notability and reliable references, see here for discussion.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
