Prof Garcia's Comments
[edit]Week 1
[edit]@Chrisgonz321: You've done a great job already, Chris! Keep up the great work, even with the British humor thrown in from time to time. I'm excited that you'll be able to add a lot of useful content to your Wiki page. Remember to save a copy of what your page looked like at the beginning so you can compare it at the end. Best way to do this is to print-to-pdf and then safe that pdf. Alfgarciamora (talk) 12:30, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Alfgarciamora: Thank you Professor! The British humor will only be used when appropriate; the first training module said I could write "anything" on my sandbox and I used that quite literally. I'm excited to add to my character's Wiki page as well. :)
Week 2
[edit]Nicely done here! My only suggestion is that you need to write more substantively for future questions that are posted. You give some good insights, but make sure you write more and give more details, examples, and insights whenever you have assignments like these. Alfgarciamora (talk) 20:03, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
Professor, I have already completed my week 3 assignment but I was wondering if you could take a look at it before grading. I decided to copy-edit my character's page because the grammar there was sub-par. I worry, however, that my grade may be penalized because Etienne Polverel's page is only about three paragraphs long. Since you did not specify any sort of length requirement for the Week 3 Assignment, I was hoping you could advise on my concern. Thank you! @Alfgarciamora:

[edit]@Chrisgonz321: I really like the way you are working on your draft, you have found good and reliable sources. I like that you are adding factual information and improving your character's page with much information. The only thing that I see you can improve is by easing the vocabulary used. Wikipedia is accessed by millions of people that do not have the same level of education and proficiency in vocabulary as you, so it would be easy if they can come and get their information without having use a dictionary. You are doing an amazing job, just remember you are writing for the general populace, not to a professor or to impress someone.
- Hello! That's actually very useful, and you're right. I'll revise it and tone it down for sure before I go live with it. Thank you very much. :) Chrisgonz321 (talk) 22:16, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Week 8
[edit]You've done an amazing job, Chrisgonz321! I just took a look at your live page and it looks really, really excellent. I am so proud of the work that you have done this semester and am happy to report that all you have to do now is clean up the whole page and make sure that you add as many citations as you can. But you've really written a stellar draft. Alfgarciamora (talk) 15:17, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
