Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited St. James Episcopal Church (La Grange, Texas), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rector (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Great job on the introduction to List of colloquial names for universities and colleges in the United States. That's one of the best list intros I've seen. (Came across it on Special:Random) Schazjmd (talk) 18:06, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your reversion of my edit to "Statutory college"

[edit]

Greetings and felicitations. I noticed that you reverted my edit to the Statutory college article with the comment "US standard is to place final punctuation inside closing quotation marks, and this is an article about an American institution; undid revision 1027755503 by DocWatson42". I moved the period per MOS:INOROUT, since the period is not part of the quotation. (See, for instance, Yagoda, Ben (13 May 2011) [12 May 2011]. "The Rise of 'Logical Punctuation'". The Good Word. Slate. Retrieved 10 June 2021.)

In view of this, may I please move the period back? —DocWatson42 (talk) 05:06, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MOS seems to "recommend" rather than "require" LQ, and the principal document advocating for LQ is an essay. To an educated American, I must say, it is jarring to encounter, but I do not care enough about this to make an issue of it. I will not revert the change if you re-apply it.-- choster (talk) 05:26, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thank you for replying. ^_^ —DocWatson42 (talk) 06:24, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
