template Marstime

Hi Chinakpradhan, there is a proposal to delete my templates for converting mars time to earth time: Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2022_November_22 If you think they are helpful please vote to keep them. --Schrauber5 (talk) 18:11, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Thank you! Schrauber5 (talk) 04:07, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of spaceflight records, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shenzhou.

(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 30 November 2022 (UTC)

Why did you ping me on OneWeb?

I don't work on the OneWeb articles at all and I don't know much about their constellation. I suggest asking for help on the talk page over there if you need assistance.Ergzay (talk) 09:22, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

I didn't pinged you for the reason being Oneweb article. I inged you for the sake of removing duplication in that section of Oneweb Satellite constellation. It was brought from Oneweb Satellite constellation page without any removal of content. @Ergzay Chinakpradhan (talk) 09:30, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Again, I don't know anything about it, so I suggest talking to the people on the OneWeb talk page, namely talk to the guy who organized the merge. Ergzay (talk) 11:05, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Ok thanks Chinakpradhan (talk) 15:42, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Hi Chinakpradhan, it was me who proposed and then performed the merger. In a first step, I've merged the two articles and only renamed the ref tags to avoid duplicate names after the merger, and moved the section headings of the source article mergend into OneWeb one level lower. I still had and have on my to-do list searching for and removing duplicate content. Sorry for confusing you, but I did not found not yet the time to perform this second step. The reason why I did the merger was of course that there was so many duplicate text in both articles. --Cyfal (talk) 07:43, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
@Cyfal dont worry after saying "OK thanks" here i took the effort and did all the necessary things with framing sections in the page. see my contribution here and do anything more if you like. Chinakpradhan (talk) 08:40, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
sorry for getting the work expanded over ~60 edits.@Cyfal Chinakpradhan (talk) 08:42, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
i knew that you did the merger but i thought you were busy. @Cyfal Chinakpradhan (talk) 08:43, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
Thank you very much for all the work you have done! --Cyfal (talk) 21:36, 6 December 2022 (UTC)

Welcome back Chinakpradhan (talk) 01:20, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

Ingenuity list of records

Hello Chinakpradhan, you see, each time I want to look up Ingenuity's records I have to scroll a long list and identify the appropriate cells; I also cannot have the records displayed next to each other. Each time I come to this particular page. This is why I created a specific records table. I suppose that this is not just for me. I understand that you may not use it, but consider that other would. It is just a convenience to have that information in a single, specific place of the long page. I hope you understand.

I reversed the page's state, and also put a note to this purpose on the [page].

Thank you! Abjad — Preceding undated comment added 04:02, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

@Abjad for that i have the infobox on Ingenuity (helicopter) but ya as you said i appreciate to keep it there. i just wanted to know the reasons. thanks Chinakpradhan (talk) 04:11, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

BTS Dynamite

I've added your contribution back to the article, hope this helped. Gamowebbed (talk) 15:22, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

That you @Gamowebbed see almost every song listed at Music in space has mention of their involvment in space even a single time. Chinakpradhan (talk) 15:25, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

I agree with you, I don't know why the other editors removed your edit, but I'm glad its there now, and I hope it stays. Gamowebbed (talk) 15:56, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

I think Music in space page has lost track too many missions they might have sung a song but nice to mention dynamite as its in cislunar space. Adding Sorato music disc on this page that was just now flown with hakuto-r as a payload. Thank you for your help btw @Gamowebbed. Chinakpradhan (talk) 16:25, 19 December 2022 (UTC)

No problem, happy to help. Gamowebbed (talk) 13:13, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

Text review

In an edit summary, you asked me to check your writing in the section "Three Forks Sample Depot" of the "Mars sample-return mission" article. It looks Ok to me, and you've made a lot of significant contributions to articles, but I want to give you a reminder that the text you add to Wikipedia articles must be in your own words, not copied from the sources. I used a tool that looks for text copied from a source, specifically, the spacenews.com article. Result shown at: https://copyvios.toolforge.org/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=Mars+sample-return+mission&oldid=&use_engine=0&use_links=0&turnitin=0&action=compare&url=https%3A%2F%2Fspacenews.com%2Fperseverance-prepares-to-deposit-mars-sample-cache%2F. I can see that you cited sources at the end of the section, but I think that method might not sufficiently attribute the copied text, none of which is shown as direct quotations from the source. You can learn more about Wikipedia and copyright by reading the pages: Copyright violations, Copying text from other sources, and Plagiarism. These are important principles in Wikipedia, and you could face disapproval by administrators if you don't follow them. I believe English is not your first language, so you might post your suggested text (in your own words) in the Talk page of an article and ask other editors to review it for grammatical correctness and relevancy. I would also like to ask you to include an Edit Summary, which you usually omit, for each edit you make. Thanks. DonFB (talk) 11:11, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

thanks Chinakpradhan (talk) 16:22, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

@DonFB but just in curiosity can you say that text added from free sources can be used in wholly or part or that too must be in own words. And have removed copyrighted words from Mars Sample return mission and Mars Sample Recovery Helicopter page. Chinakpradhan (talk) 17:17, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

Here is advice and how-to information from some Wikipedia pages about policy and procedure:
From WP:COPYPASTE:
"Text and illustrations prepared by the U.S. government are not copyrighted; they are in the public domain and can be used without permission, but to avoid plagiarism a citation is required indicating their source."
So, this would apply, I believe, to articles on NASA websites.
From: Help:Adding open license text to Wikipedia:
Attributing text
Attributing open license text in Source Editor:
  • Copy and paste the open license text into a Wikipedia article.
  • Create a Sources section above the References section and paste in:
{{Free-content attribution|
| title = <!-- The title of the work -->
| author = <!-- The author of the work -->
| publisher = <!-- The publisher of the work -->
| source= <!-- The source of the work if not from the publisher or the author -->
| documentURL = <!-- The URL of the work -->
| License statement URL = <!-- The URL of the license statement of the work if not included within the document -->
| license = <!-- The license of the work -->
}}
Click on the 'Free-content attribution' link above to see instructions for using that Template.
If you use public domain text in only one place, you could put in a reference footnote for just that text. But if you use a lot of public domain text, and it's in more than one place in the article, then you should follow instructions shown above for adding a Sources section at the bottom of the article.
Chinakpradhan, please start using an Edit Summary for each of your edits. Thanks.
DonFB (talk) 05:00, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

Ok I used to give edit summary in important edits only Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:11, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

Best practice is to use a Summary for all edits which change the actual content of the article. Minor edits are those which don't change content, but just fix things like spelling, typos or small adjustment to format. DonFB (talk) 05:20, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

Mars Sample Return Mission

@DonFB, this topic needs no explanation. straight away coming to the topic, i want to separate NASA ESA Concept and Perseverance part from Mars sample-return mission to a page like NASA- ESA Mars Sample Return Mission for two obvious reasons.

1)regain its neutraility that was lost year ago.
2)as with List of Starlink and Starshield launches and List of Ingenuity flights, that is to free the parent page Mars sample-return mission with regular updation. (also in updation we lost the earlier concept of a ESA fetch rover, we can discuss if its needed to be regained or not)
(we could also try making another page like List of MSR cached Samples to move my table from that new page, but it is later discussion)

give you views on this topic, so we can start arranging for changes, i am sure you would support this idea!!! Thanks Chinakpradhan (talk) 15:01, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

Not sure exactly what you're asking or intending, but if you have specific question(s), I'll try to answer. It seems like you want to make separate articles for Collection, Retrieval, and Return, which is probably Ok. The main article would still need to retain some brief summaries of those phases of the overall mission of returning samples to Earth. DonFB (talk) 06:28, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

I am clearly stating to remove that nasa esa concept and Mars 2020 section to a new page Chinakpradhan (talk) 07:13, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

The reason is that it emphasises on this nasa-esa concept and other concepts don't get a balanced share on this page. The two sections are already as bulky that if your are a non-pc visitor you will probably have to go through these bulky sections which many would hate. I didnt say that we don't leave any trace of nasa esa concept on MSR page we will keep a short summary @DonFB. Also I will voice my main motive to get rid of all problems ingenuity flights section gave to Ingenuity (helicopter) some months ago that it got a separate page. Chinakpradhan (talk) 07:21, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

You will be more pleased with sample return page than msr page due its neutrality. Chinakpradhan (talk) 07:32, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

aside from this issue I am asking why each time my Sample Depot Deposit Date, Spot and Image shrinks unlike the caching images in my table at Mars Sample Return Mission when I scroll down how to stop skrinking?? @DonFB Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:17, 24 December 2022 (UTC)

Sorry, can't perceive specifically which article, which section you refer to as having a problem.
Regarding the (collapsed) table of flights in the Ingenuity article that an editor added and you deleted: I was a little surprised someone added it, but I did not object. The table was hidden and not so bulky, because it did not include the "Summary" column, and it actually could be an even faster way to get basic flight details than the separate article. Remember to understand that anyone can edit an article, and sometimes another editor will do something you were not expecting or desiring. That's when discussion and collaboration are important. DonFB (talk) 05:04, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
see the thing i added to NASA-ESA Mars Sample Return page, you can see what i had moved to a that page from Mars sample-return mission page@DonFB (this was my starting discussion). for the question i asked the topic is a hidden table currently under NASA-ESA Mars Sample Return Mission#List of samples cached called sample details. if you are using a smartphone then on viewing that table the column Sample Depot Deposit Date, Spot and Image shrinks too much reducing the image in that column to around 50-100px. that is the shrinking problem.
Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:14, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
finally regarding that tale i removed at Ingenuity (helicopter) page. that is a copy of NASA flight log that isnt accurate and not everyone uses m, m/s units. so conversion is seen in that page plus having two tables is a form of duplication for same article in wikipedia. you may have other views.@DonFB Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:42, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
if its still needed i could revert and bring it up in that section. Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:44, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

Adding bare-URL sources

Hi, please stop adding bare-URL sources to pages. If you don't have the time to fully add the source at the moment, please come back at a later time and add all the information for the source. You can use the visual editor to automatically format the source with just the URL followed by some manual edits in the GUI to add the source. Ergzay (talk) 10:01, 28 December 2022 (UTC)

the cite generator doesnt work in mobile version if you see all my are url additions are with Mobile edit Mobile web edit Advanced mobile edit. i dont have my pc with me all the time. thats same with indenting comments at talk page everytime. in pc version i have automatic indent available.@Ergzay Chinakpradhan (talk) 15:54, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
