Can anyone help with references written in Chinese?
June 2009
[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Lanzhou. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Mei Ping Wu
[edit]A tag has been placed on Mei Ping Wu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I42 (talk) 18:02, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
In this particular case, you probably don't need to provide citations within the Mei Ping Wu article that Yasheng Group and Silk Route Museum are the largest of their kind in China, as long as that evidence is clearly included in their own articles (both of which you created). I'm afraid I don't read Chinese, so I can't help you with example citation sentences. But I'd be rather surprised if China's largest agricultural company and museum didn't have any verifiable English-language source explicitly stating those facts, and that you could refer to. Hqb (talk) 18:45, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Also, you should provide verifiable evidence (e.g., by a link to the relevant "About us" pages on the museum/company websites, or news stories from reliable sources) that she does indeed hold those prominent positions in both organizations. Keep in mind though, that even being an key officier of a notable organization does not automatically guarantee personal notability. See WP:CORP and WP:BIO for further details. Hqb (talk) 18:59, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed on both counts - that would be the best course of action, I'd say. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 21:22, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Silk Route Museum
[edit]I am a new editor. Can you help me with the "Silk Route Museum" article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChinaUpdater (talk • contribs) 16:51, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'll sure try. What would you like help with? --sparkitTALK 19:09, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- I created Mei Ping Wu, Silk Route Museum, and Yasheng Group. I met Mei Ping, and was astonished at her achievements, so I tried to look her up on Wikipedia, and there was no article on any of these. So I became and editor and wrote article beginnings. But I dont know how to do notability or references, and they say they will remove Mei Ping Wu article if I do not fix. How to get "notability"? Can you add just once sentence with proper reference to article, then I will copy your style? Eg., from here - http://www.silkroutemuseum.com/en/silkroad.pdf ? ChinaUpdater (talk) 19:14, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- I updated Silk Route Museum with references formatted in a workable/readable fashion.Wikipedia:Citing_sources has information on doing so.
- "Getting notability" is an interesting process. It is seemingly subjective. What you need to do is convince other editors, particularly those who challenge the notability of the article, that the topic is notable. Establishing notability will require references from sources other than the museum - magazines, newspapers, news websites, etc. (See Notability in Wikipedia).
- I'll keep an eye on these articles to see how things develop and help when I can.
- Thanks. I copied your reference style and they are starting to clean up. How to establish "notability" for Mei Pin Wu, though? ChinaUpdater (talk) 19:50, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- You're welcome! You will need to find sources that show Mei Pin Wu's importance. The Chinese wikipedia, [1], may be useful if you can translate or find someone who does. --sparkitTALK 19:58, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Blanchardb
[edit]Blandhardb, I am new editor. Can you please check articles on Yasheng Group and Mei Ping Wu to see if I did your request to "notability" correct. If you can do just one sentence for notability with proper reference, i can copy your method and do other sentences like you do properly. Thank you. ChinaUpdater (talk) 19:24, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
- Both articles assert enough notability for their subjects right now to avoid being nominated for deletion under the speedy process (that is, deletion "on sight"). Please note that neither article has been considered for deletion even under a discussion process, and if one such discussion is initiated, there are currently enough sources cited that you do not need to worry about the outcome.
- With this concern out of the way, you are welcome to improve the articles, but you are not required to do it yourself. Remember that perfection is not expected, and certainly not required on your very first try. Remember also that there is no deadline. Since your articles are about topics specific to China, you might want to enlist the help of the people at WP:WikiProject China. Best of luck. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 23:57, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Feather Award
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Feather Award, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- No assertion of notability with reliable sources.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Scjessey (talk) 00:52, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
This article you created accused someone of fraud, yet you haven't provided any sources. That's bad form; reliable sources must be provided, especially for controversial biographical material. It has been deleted; please don't recreate it until you've researched and cited your sources. TheFeds 01:00, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- Interestingly enough, I did a check of LexisNexis (a database containing court records), and found the case you were citing. See Talk:Allied Artists International for details.
- There are still some problems with the way you added the material to the articles, and created a slew of redirects to peoples' names without proper citation, but at least I can confirm that there is truth to your assertions. Please proceed carefully with this, and only add material that is directly traceable to a reliable source. TheFeds 19:08, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:06, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Allied Artists International. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 22:45, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Please read WP:BLP. You may not make unsourced claims about any living person, anywhere on Wikipedia. I have removed your comments on my Talk page, as they violate that policy. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 22:49, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Allied Artists (disambiguation). Thank you. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 22:50, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
You are making charges of criminal behavior against a living person without providing sources. That is a policy violation, and I have removed several of the edits you have made for violating the policy. Warriorboy has been given a warning about violating WP:3RR, both of which you are in violation of, but your violation of WP:BLP is more severe than is his. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 23:02, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
However, Warriorboy has been given a warning for violating Wikipedia's policy on legal threats. If he does not rescind that threat, he will be blocked until he does. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 23:05, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Please stop removing valid entries from Allied Artists (disambiguation), and please stop making references to a particular person in the disambiguation page. The article is sufficient to discuss Richards. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 23:11, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
I don't understand why they are called "valid"? They ALL refer to [[Allied Arists International]. Even the classic movie company is said without source, to be owned by his company. ChinaUpdater (talk) 23:14, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- You're right, I've removed all of the redirects and just left the two, but the addition of the Richards comment is unnecessary, the article should do the talking for you (with reliable sources). Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 23:16, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Due to the 3 revert warning, it would be best if you did not edit that page until you go through the dispute resolution process. Otherwise, you will be blocked from editing. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 23:41, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Stop editing Allied Artists International or any related articles now, or you will be blocked for violating 3RR. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 01:12, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- User Who then was a gentleman?, I left messages on your talk page and got no response. What is the basis of blocking me? All of my edits were reliably sources, and immediately deleted and replaced with promos for this outfit. When someone at Wiki threatens me, as with a lawsuit, followed by your threat, how do I tell who has authority to so threaten me, other than that you give no reasons according to Wiki guidlines that i am not following?ChinaUpdater (talk) 01:17, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- I responded on this page to every single one of your messages on my Talk page, so don't even try to claim that I am not responding to you. And the basis for blocking you is violation of WP:3RR, as I already told you. Next time I'll report you to WP:3RRN. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 01:23, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- You did not respondto my edit comments to discuss edits on the talk page of the article, but simply did the same thing as WarriorBoy, and put NRS material in the article, and did not provide reasons for your mass edit, which WarriorBoy85 did not do, and ultimately he admitted he was in touch with their legal department. Your history gives the appearance of a straight shooter. Why are you helping this company abuse Wiki. It is questinable if it even has a physical product. ChinaUpdater (talk) 01:28, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- You did not respond to my questions on your talk page, which I moved to here since they are date and time stamped:
- Why did you remove all of the reliable sources information on Kimball Dean Richards, such as the Los Angeles Times article on him and Allied Artists in one swoop? Did you check any of the sources? ChinaUpdater (talk) 23:37, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- You did not respond to my questions on your talk page, which I moved to here since they are date and time stamped:
- Now I have been threatened with a lawsuit if I edit, I am afraid to undo your massive wiping out of all of my work. Can I still edit?ChinaUpdater (talk) 23:37, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- And I explained to you, Due to the 3 revert warning, it would be best if you did not edit that page until you go through the dispute resolution process.. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 01:49, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- How does this even remotely respond to my first two questions, which were:
::1. Why did you remove all of the reliable sources information on Kimball Dean Richards, such as the Los Angeles Times article on him and Allied Artists in one swoop? :: ::2. Did you check any of the sources? ::ChinaUpdater (talk) 01:53, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I guess you got what you wanted, since I've been forced to report you for continuing to edit war. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 01:56, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- What I want was a good faith answer to a reasonable question. You have not answsered the question about why you are making blanket deletions and not using Reliable sources, and deleting reliably sourced material?ChinaUpdater (talk) 02:00, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Have you even bothered to read WP:BLP? You continue to violate it with practically every edit you make. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 02:00, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Who then was a gentleman?, I have not read it. I will do so on your good faith recommendation. ChinaUpdater (talk) 12:07, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
FYI: Assessment of the Allied Artists case
[edit]ChinaUpdater, I went through the material that was posted, and did some research of my own, and came to some conclusions about this matter. Please see Talk:Allied Artists International#Feds' findings of fact for my conclusions. In short, I think there are strong and valid reasons to link Kim Richards to Kimball Dean Richards, and mention him in the Allied Artists International article—but the article should not only be about him, it should be about the company. Also, Richards does deserve an article of his own, but you are being watched closely by several administrators and other editors to make sure that you do not insert improper material. I would advise you to describe the content you want to include in that article on the talk page, and make sure that absolutely everything is properly referenced to a reliable source.
You need to work on being less belligerent and persistent (so don't go on an editing binge like you just did), and should respect Wikipedia's policies about properly attributing controversial material to reliable sources.
You received a legal threat, and I've advised Warriorboy85 to rescind it and apologize. TheFeds 02:36, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Warriorboy85 has clarified that he did not intend his comments as a threat, but rather that he was in contact with Allied to discuss the matter. He apologized here. TheFeds 04:41, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- TheFeds, it is clear that Kimball Dean Richards is oenwer of Allied Artists Riecords, from the explicit statement of this in the federal sentencing report, and in the Mojave Miner article. If WarriorBoy85 is so closely in contact with this supposedly "notable" company, Allied Artists International", which WarriorBoy85 wrote was created by changing the name Allied Artists Records, why will he not reveal the contact information for its CEO, and other officers, so we can establish notability? WarriorBoy85 writes Kim d. Rechards is CEO, then changes the spelling of the name to break the link every time I change this to Kimball Dean Richards. ChinaUpdater (talk) 12:14, 19 October 2009 (UTC) (Comment moved from here to follow thread that belongs on user talk page. TheFeds 16:09, 19 October 2009 (UTC))

Whatever this issue is, it doesn't need mass canvassing, and you're making very dangerous statements which potentially put Wikipedia in legal jeopardy. KDR may or may not have committed crimes - I do not know or care - what I do know is that you should not be posting it all over every page on Wikipedia demanding WP:TRUTH or something similar. See sections on my talk page below, and check the links out! Also see my latest attempt to get a Reliable Source article on the last existing talk page for Kimball Dean Richards. No reason for deleting this talk page attempt to construct a reliably sourced article was given. All sources were reliable, and if not, someone should have specifically objected. I was told what I did on the last incarnation of the talk page of Kimball Dean Richards was "disruptive, and after i posted a transcript of a newspaper article on the talk page, I was blocked. Also, read above, as to how User:Who then was a gentleman? failed to give any specificity to his allegations, and massively deleted my edits without even checking if the Mojave Miner microfische article on Kimball Dean Richards was properly transcribed.
Decline reason:
You were blocked because you were posting large sections of rambling texts on several places, including random talk pages and the administrator's noticeboard, without any explanation of the issues or your concerns - just a rant. In order to be unblocked, you need to a.) stop posting huge sections of text everywhere and expecting people to read them and help you, and b.) - Here [3] is an example of my edits in comparison with others. I believe the complaint is about posting on talk pages of others who are editing the article in question, not the sources or content of my page edits.
- I agree to do what you say.
- I have now read the WP:BLP page . I understand that I can not post on talk pages, without reference to reliable sources on that same page, and that some editors do not want anything posts on their pages.
- To make sure no one complains again, I agree NOT to post ANYTHING on other editors webpages who are not friends or messaging me on their pages.

Kimball Dean Richards and Louis Lesser, Allied Artists Records and Allied Artists Pictures Corporation, 1984 Mojave Miner News article on Solicitation to Commit Murder
[edit]- Kimball Dean Richards is here [5], a 1984 news article in the Mojave Miner.
- On the talk page of the Kimball Dean Richards article, I posted a transcript of the microfisch of the 1984 news article in the Mojave Miner, as well as links to the Federal United States Indictment, and Federal United States Attorney Major Frauds Sentencing pleadings.
- I posted the transcript in order to be able to construct an article from reliable sources.
- The transcript and links to the Los Angeles Times, Mojave Miner, and Federal Pleadings, were deleted.
- 1. Does anyone know why transcripts of Newspapers are not allowed on talk pages at Wikipedia?
- Per many news stories and indictments, KDR is owner of Allied Artists, per federal prosecutors and others [6], a DIFFERENT entity from Allied Artists Pictures Corporation, listed on Wikipedia as having CEO Kim Richards.
- L. L. is a Director of Allied Artists Pictures Corporation.
- L.L.'s Allied Artists Pictures Corporation is CURRENTLY registered HERE [7], with the State of New York as a Corporation originally registered in the State of Delaware, but Lesser's name does not appear. Can anywone find any online links proving that he is Director?
- L. L. is a person of major note, having developed Barrington Plaza with president John Fitzgerald Kennedy, and much more.
- LL is is 93 years old, computer illiterate, and is the victim of frauds dating back to attempts to impersonate LL's Allied Artists Pictures Corporation company.
LL is STILL Director of, which has existed as a corporation, first in Delaware jurisdiction, then in New York State SINCE 1976, HERE [8].
- Read the microfiche here [9], and judge and edit for yourselves.
- Try to get ANYTHING on Wikipedia about Kimball Dean Richards and his Allied Artists Records, and watch see what happens.

- User:Abce2, which "both", are you referring to? There are more than two, in fact multiple, references above, with multiple blocks, so I can not tell which "both" you refer to.ChinaUpdater (talk) 15:33, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Let's discuss this calmly, and not attack each other or anyone
[edit]Hi ChinaUpdater. I know we got off to a very bad start, so let's try to discuss those things we disagree with and come to a consensus before either of us writes something that we know will cause the other to react. There can be no doubt that it would be more productive and better for Wikipedia in the end. I have some facts that you may not be aware of, and you may have some to educate me. Perhaps we can work together to do articles on both Richards and Rooks. Both of them seem to have colorful pasts and there seems to be plenty of public source material for both. I'm not sure that either are truly notable, but if we work together to develop the facts, so they are accurate, we can figure it out peacefully. Let me know if you're interested in working together. Thanks. :) --Warriorboy85 (talk) 07:27, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

The article Feather Award has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Seems to be a non-notable award with few if any independent reliable sources
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Gleeanon409 (talk) 11:00, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
