Hello, Chicken Parm, and Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stick around. Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopaedia in the world. To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has over one million articles! But we still need more! Please feel free to contribute your knowledge and expertise to our site. If you want, you can drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself.

Before you start doing a lot of editing, you might want to take the Tutorial. It gives a lot of basic info you'll want to get you oriented on Wikipedia.

You can sign your name on talk pages by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp.

If you have any other questions about the project, please feel free to drop me a question on my talk page or check out Wikipedia:Help desk.

Template:Alabama Sports

[edit]

Chicken Parm, I was just curious about your edits on my Alabama Sports template. Why exactly did you remove the ABA teams? The team pages show that both the Birmingham Magicians and Southern Alabama Bounce are currently playing. If this is not the case, perhaps you should note (with sources) that they no longer play on the team articles Also, why did you remove the Mobile Muskateers indoor football team? Their team page states they plan to start this season so what was the rationale? Again if you have information the team is defunct, then please also update the team articles. If I do not hear back, I will be reverting those edits because as far as I can tell, all 3 teams still exist. --otduff t/c 18:26, 25 September 2007 (UTC) <for the record, chicken parm responded on my talk page>[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited New York Collegiate Baseball League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Boonville, New York (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Request reason:

I have absolutely no idea why I've been blocked. Who is Hersheybearsfan? What on earth do I appear to have sock-puppeted from him/her? Can someone help me out with this?

Accept reason:

I have spoken to the blocking admin and they have explained their reasoning but also indicated that they were not 100% sure in your case, apparently there were quite a few sockpuppets of this user editing ameteur baseball articles. While there is some behavioral evidence that suggests you may also be that user, it appears neither of us feels certain one way or the other, so in the spirit of assuming good faith you are being unblocked. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Adding playoff results to hockey teams

[edit]

You seem to rush these edits and there are several broken or incorrect links when you add them. If you look at how other teams are using them, perhaps you can try to match the format such as those used at Wichita Thunder#Season-by-season records? It will save me from doing a whole bunch of clean-up. Other notes: Try using a sandbox first for the Tables. Also, they are not always called Quarters and Semis and often have uneven rounds. Always use en-dashes for date ranges. Hockey playoffs don't take place over two years (but the season does) so are only called 2016 Kelly Cup playoffs and such.
