Leslie
I should have Hurricane Leslie (2018) done within the next couple of weeks. It was quite a severe weather event in Europe. You should see how much it has grown already! I still have a decent bit more to check and add. NoahTalk 02:25, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Hurricane Noah: Nicely done!ChessEric (talk · contribs) 22:10, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
- here are the current stats for the page. I have four more aftermath sources to add tomorrow. I will then restructure/organize the effects for Portugal into subsections. After that, I have four scholarly articles to incorporate. Finally, the lead will be rewritten and expanded to be comprehensive. NoahTalk 02:08, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Hurricane Noah: Whoa dude! Slow down! LOL! Anyway, keep up the good work! By the way, did I tag you on the new discussion I put out yesterday on Hurricane Laura? If not, I should've. Please go see it. Thanks! ChessEric (talk · contribs) 21:37, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- How large did you expect Leslie to turn out? NoahTalk 22:31, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Hurricane Noah: Honestly, I didn't think it could really be expanded anymore than it already was. Given the fact that (a) the TCR for Leslie had little to nothing on the damage caused by this system, (b) the article had previously been dominated by the meteorological history of Leslie, and (c) most articles for tropical cyclones that affect Europe are lackluster at best and don't get mass revamps, the amount of info you put into this is incredible, especially since Portugal section has to be split into subsections! This isn't even adding the fact that Hurricane Michael, which was around the same time as Leslie was, is the one drawing the attention of most editors. This is awesome man! You should check the languages for the sources. I had to check for local ones to get the info. I am splitting off preps and aftermath from what was one "Effects" section now. I will have to wait and see if I need to do more section splits for Portugal after that. I likely will. NoahTalk 02:35, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Hurricane Noah: Okay cool. Keep me posted. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 19:11, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- Just the lead is left now tbh... I should have it done tonight sometime after I get done with work. NoahTalk 12:58, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Okay... it's done now! NoahTalk 02:11, 4 June 2021 (UTC)

Katrina
You added a line to Katrina's MH stating that "Post-storm analysis determined that system had for[med] about three hours earlier" and cited it back to the TCR. However, there are a couple of things wrong with this sentence as first it doesn't fit into the narrative that I had written about advisories being initiated at 21z. Secondly, advisories issued at 21z are for the 18-00z forecast cycle and operationally NHC declared that Katrina had become a tropical depression at 18z but didn't initiate advisories until 21z. Thirdly, deriving stuff like this from HURDAT/TCR where it isn't directly said that the system had for[med] about three hours earlier is discouraged and it could be argued that its original research.Jason Rees (talk) 01:32, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Jason Rees: Whoops. My bad. I'm still learning here. LOL! I'll do better next time.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 02:06, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- No worries - we are all still learning especially with the new weather project, but I just thought it better to reach out and explain to you, especially since it seems like your interested reworking Katrina's MH.Jason Rees (talk) 19:31, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Jason Rees: Indeed. By the way and speaking of TCRs and HURDAT, I was looking 1995's Tropical Storm Barry TCR and it appears the minimum pressure is slightly off on the 1995 Atlantic hurricane season page (990 mb instead of the TCR's 989 mb). Of course, my interpretation of "Becoming extratropical" means that a storm is in the said transition, but not fully there yet, but I just wanted to get your point of view of it. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 21:00, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- I don't know much about Barry 1995 but it does appear that the minimum pressure was 989 hPa not 990 based on the TCR since becoming extratropical does indeed mean that it isn't quite extratropical yet.Jason Rees (talk) 21:38, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Jason Rees: Thanks! That what I needed to know before making that change.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 21:40, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

I took a look at the AMS journal article for the 1995 AHS that was written by NHC and that says the lowest pressure was 989 not 990 so good call in correcting it. Jason Rees (talk) 01:48, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

June 18-19 tornadoes
Looks like there is some survey info out of ILM and possibly IND. Could you add it to the June list? I'm getting things in line to update the map. TornadoLGS (talk) 22:49, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- @TornadoLGS: I'm busy right now, but will do what I can.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 22:51, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Claudette
Hi, ChessEric thank for your contributions to Tropical Storm Claudette (2021), i just wanna note to you. pls make proper cite NHC, there is a tutorial how to cite NHC by LightandDark2000
see User:CodingCyclone/Citing sources, by LightandDark2000 HurricaneEdgar 09:33, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
- @HurricaneEdgar: Thanks & your welcome! I will admit I'm lazy and do autofill when I do citations because I don't have a lot of time to do them (college is stressful after all). However, I will try to do better in the future.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 17:20, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
Help with an extratropical cyclone
Would you be willing to help with writing an extratropical cyclone article? NoahTalk 00:37, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Hurricane Noah: Sure. I'm a little busy, but I will pitch in when I can. What are we talking about here?ChessEric (talk · contribs) 00:44, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- It would be easier to show you and organize everything on discord if you are able to make one or already have one. NoahTalk 01:40, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
