Okinawan

[edit]

Hello. Are you familiar with the Okinawan language? Are you able to create an Okinawan entry for the phrase "I've already eaten today's dinner" as seen at East Asian languages#Syntax? Thanks for your contributions. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 11:43, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that was very quick. And sorry for the accidental double-post! Thanks again for that. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 12:25, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you have anything to ask about the Standard Okinawan Language, I am more than happy to help you.. Thank you also ^_^

[edit]

Hi there. Would you mind in helping me find Okinawan readings for 自由 and 平等, or any vocabulary equivalents specific to Okinawan? And is there an Okinawan dictionary that you recommend that I can use? Thanks again. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 08:42, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Uhm, as far as I know, the policy in practice is to use Okinawanized pronunciations for Sino-Japanese loanwords....So you may use 'jiyu' (not long vowel) and (byoodoo)....However, there is a trend among Okinawans to avoid Sino-Japanese terms whenever possible and to switch to more native vocabulary whenever possible....if not they usually give a phrase.....for example for 平等 they have ゆぬ如 (yunu gutu)...but most younger Okinawans and those lacking education or access to the written language carelessly import Sino_Japanisms.....
