- What is your question? - wolf 19:55, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- It was an accident sorry U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 19:57, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Just testing U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 19:58, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Every time you change something and then hit "save" or "publish", you are changing something that may have an impact on something else, be it disruptive changes to articles, or calling other editors to your talk page with the "help me" template for no reason. Again, if you want to play around, use the sandbox, otherwise, always check your edits with the "preview" function before saving or publishing to ensure they are worthwhile edits. Thank you (note: comments indented per WP:INDENT) - wolf 20:17, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Ok actual question U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 21:58, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Are we allowed to make a Wikipedia for a game? U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 21:59, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- If you can let me know that would be cool U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 22:12, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- This is an online encyclopaedia, if your looking to create an article for a game, perhaps seek assistance at Wikipedia:WikiProject Games. There are some games that can be played interactively by editors here, for more information see: Wikipedia:Wikipedia games. Otherwise, you might be looking for a wikia site like fandom.com. Right now, your most immediate concern should be your username. (imo) - wolf 19:53, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to USS Enterprise (CVN-65), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. - wolf 19:52, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Oh sorry I didn’t know U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 19:53, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to USS Hornet (CV-8), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. - wolf 19:53, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- It was a test edit U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 19:56, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Please don't make test edits in articles. You can use the sandbox for that. Thank you - wolf 20:00, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "U.S.S. Enterprise official", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. The username implies some sort of official connection or role. - Huh? You'll have to clarify that.
(And I'm giving up on the indent instructions. You'll learn soon enough if you try joining any busy threads on article or project talk pages.) - wolf 00:36, 12 January 2022 (UTC)

Blocked
[edit]- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
- Your requested new username cannot already be in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below this notice. Alexf(talk) 00:52, 12 January 2022 (UTC)I requested a change U.S.S. Enterprise official (talk) 13:10, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not sure your new name is any better, as it includes the name of an organization in it. You should carefully read the Wikipedia:Username policy and request a username that is more appropriate. (imo) - wolf 19:05, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

- I am here to help but you keep being rude af and saying to change my name every single time Chase at chapmanville vol fire department (talk) 19:25, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- I have not been rude to you at all. There was a problem with your first username, as evidenced by the fact that it was contested by other editors besides myself and your account was blocked pending a name change. While you did change your name, your account is again blocked and that had nothing to do with me. So instead of directing your rage and frustration at others, consider that there are policies & guidelines here that you need to abide by. That includes a suitable username. Once you select one, I'm sure your account will be unblocked and you can begin editing. Good luck and good day to you - wolf 19:53, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

I would like to be unblocked I am sorry for my username I just wanna help edit things — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chase at chapmanville vol fire department (talk • contribs) 19:34, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
Accept reason:
The username has been changed, and this is only a username block, so I will remove it. 331dot (talk) 20:55, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
I'm not sure that this will be successful though, because you still have the name of an organization in your username. You should select a username that doesn't. Again, see the Wikipedia:Username policy for more information. - wolf 20:06, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thewolfchild This type of username is explicitly permitted by policy(proper name + org name). 331dot (talk) 20:49, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, well fair enough. Chase, you're now unblocked. Glad I could help. Happy editing. - wolf 21:07, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

Help
[edit]I got a question Chase at chapmanville vol fire department (talk) 19:44, 18 January 2022 (UTC)
I need a link to a new Georgia newspaper headline Chase at chapmanville vol fire department (talk) 19:45, 18 January 2022 (UTC)
- If you want to use the "Help me" template, you need to use the the curly brackets as well, eg: {{Help me}} (and place it in a new section at the bottom of the page, not at the top). But as I mentioned before, you should try using the Help Desk (←just click on that link and go from there). In fact, you should get in the habit of using the help desk until you better know you're way around. Another resource you should also check out is the Teahouse, a place specifically for new users.
- But all that said, I'll see if I can help you, since I'm here (your page went onto my watchlist when I posted the "welcome" template above")... what news headline do you need help with? Can you provide a link/url to the page? - wolf 03:18, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- The invasion of new Georgia Chase at chapmanville vol fire department (talk) 13:09, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- I take it you're referring to the New Georgia campaign? Are you looking to add content and then support it by citing a newspaper article? If so, perhaps you could post a link to the article? Unless you're looking for the link in the first place, in which case you'll generally have to use Google for that, though it's possible you might find some assistance at the Wikipedia Library. - wolf 04:34, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Creating a new article

- Well, you can certainly give it a try! Just go to Help:Your first article for more information. - wolf 04:34, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
