Nellie Sengupta and Sunanda K Dutta-Roy

[edit]

Hi, You are doing good work. Please note that Sengupta is one word: it is not Sen Gupta. Dutta Roy however always spelled his surname using two words. Also, please do not use wikipedia articles as ref.--GDibyendu (talk) 20:14, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your compliments. I'm not sure if this is how to reply, but please see this article by Datta-Ray (not Dutta Roy as you mis-spell it) http://www.iht.com/articles/2004/05/18/edray_ed3_.php ... I think Datta-Ray, a descendent, probably is a more authoritative source than yourself on the spelling of Nellie's surname. In anycase, you seem to have a penchant for mis-spelling names. Cheerio.

Please follow WP:CIVIL while communicating with other editors. I am using Mozilla where it underlines wrongly spelled words. You have also written Nelli and not Nellie. I have read the Statesman for many years, and from what I remember from that is Dutta Roy was the surname used there. However, I am not challenging that, what I wanted to say is that Statesman did not spell Sunanda's surname as Duttaroy (one word). However, Sengupta is always a single word. About him being a more authoritative source on this, I don't agree with that: the Bengali surnames which sounds like two surnames taken together like Dattagupta, Sengupta, Dasgupta, Roychaudhuri, Palchaudhuri, Senchaudhuri etc. are all one worded ones.--GDibyendu (talk) 03:24, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are wrong. His name has never been spelt Dutta Roy ... unless it is by ppl. like yourself. Pick up today's copy of The Telegraph where Datta-Ray has an article to check the spelling of his name. I am not going to argue with you abt Nellie Sen Gupta. It can remain the way u want it. I believe Datta-Ray's spelling and the International Herald Tribune. (Refer to the link I told u about above).

It hardly matters whether I am wrong on this or not. I did not change this spelling and not challenging it also. Please be focused.--GDibyendu (talk) 04:17, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

of course nothing incorrect by you matters. the height of arrogant impudence

& btw ... i belong to four clubs in cambridge and london ... how many do u belong to? so don't tell me about club lingo.

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to List of alumni of Corpus Christi College, Oxford has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 01:50, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to Sunanda K. Datta-Ray constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Renaissancee (talk) 04:37, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Outlook.pdf. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Hi, thanks for all your help editing. Let me know if you have any questions about wiki-formatting. A few things you might find useful: (1) To create a link to an uploaded file (image/pdf/etc) you can use [[:File:nameoffile.pdf]] or [[Image:something.png]]. By putting a leading colon, it creates a link, rather than trying to display it. (2) make sure you close any <ref> tags with a </ref>. (3) You probably already knew both of these suggestions, but please try the "use preview" button to make sure your edits are fine before you "submit" them. Malformed edits often look like vandalism even if you are planning to fix them later. In fact one of the vandalism tags is "test edits". Thanks again! Hi, Thanks for your support and good wishes. Very nice of you. I don't understand why people cannot refer to the references I've used!!! I stick to the terms, descriptions used by the target I'm editing ... and these ppl. keep on making pointless changes. Sorry for the rant. Once again thanks. (talk)

Warning: edit warring

Hello. You need to know a few things... one is about reverting; please read WP:REVERT, WP:3RR and hopefully also WP:1RR. You may or may not care to peruse WP:AN3 and WP:RS. If you continue to revert to excess, you will be blocked from editing William M. Connolley (talk) 21:36, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your concern. However you need to know that I would not need to revert if idiotic people who are incapable of reading references (which I have put up) continue to make changes. You would know this if you had read some of the comments accompanying my changes.

Ah. In that case, you may want to read WP:CIVIL before too long. Oh, and please sign your talk page posts, with ~~~~ William M. Connolley (talk) 23:08, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
