If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sanjay Sehgal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. You have an obvious conflict of interest, please don't write about yourself, your friends or relatives and read the guidance below:

  • When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:28, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for message. I've already given guidance above, but I'll expand. I deleted your article because

  • You have an obvious conflict of interest, please don't write about yourself, your friends or employer.
  • you did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that he meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the subject or his organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what he claims or interviewing him. Much of your text was unreferenced, and the references you gave included several that seemed to be about his companies rather than about him. Your very first ref is a puff piece for his company with quotes from its employees, not an independent third-party source, your second ref is a press release, the third doesn't mention him, the fourth is his own company quoting what he says. I didn't check every ref, but it's clear that most, if not all, are not acceptable
  • It's not clear how he meets the notability criteria I've linked previously. You tell us he has set up some companies, but being a businessman isn't a criterion for notability, see the link above
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections. That's particularly the case when they are spamlinks to affiliated sites and people.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
  • You write about him using his first name Sanjay started his career working...
  • Four of your external links are spamlinks to his companies, the other is a link to a page of his ramblings, none are relevant, just spam
  • A few examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: soon got highlighted as one of America's leading IT services... He boldly turned the US-centric business into a global empire... indulged his passion for philanthropy... promotes the positive influences of meditation practice and how it has made him a successful business leader... has introduced Heartfulness meditation to many people over the years
  • If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on his behalf, you have a COI and are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Chakrisahithi. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Chakrisahithi|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Finn M. W. Caspersen is an example of a biography of a businessman Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:45, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
