How you can help

My name is Chad Fifer, and I am the Education Director at Nashville Zoo. I am primarily here to update the information on our organization's Wikipedia page.

My goal is not to make the page promotional, just more accurate as the zoo has grown and changed significantly since the information was created for this page. I will do my best to keep everything objective and factual, and to cite all sources accurately.

My goal here is not to create a conflict of interest, so if any editors have tips as to how I could avoid pitfalls and keep the information as objective and factual as possible, I would appreciate the feedback.

Thank you.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Cfifer. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ScrpIronIV 14:49, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
