Salvadorans in Nantucket

[edit]

Feel free not to answer if you don't want to, but I am curious as to why you are deleting your article on Salvadorans in Nantucket? Solar-Wind (talk) 22:11, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Solar-Wind. I am deleting the Salvadorans in Nantucket article as I won't be able to contribute further to the page since information is not found in abundance. I wish I was able to expand on the topic however I can't for that reason; I also haven't found any Wikipedians within the Cape Cod area or anybody who has ties to Nantucket who could help with the page. However, I might re-consider the deletion proposal if I find any more information on the topic, since that was my priority with that page. Ah, I see. That is unfortunate! Would it be possible to create a different article that focuses on Salvadorans in Massachusetts? Perhaps, if it focused on the whole state, there might be enough sources for that? Just a suggestion. Cheers. Solar-Wind (talk) 23:06, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's a good idea. That way I can contribute a lot more, since information is more readily available. Thank you for the suggestion Solar-Wind! Should I create the page or should you? You know, since it's your suggestion. Central American Xerneas (talk) 19:57, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies for the late response. Upon looking into, I'm sorry to say that there appear to be few sources on Salvadorans in Massachusetts. Perhaps I could suggest a better idea for an article? I know that Washington, D.C. (and its Maryland and Virginia suburbs) has a very large Salvadoran American population. Salvadorans are by far the largest Hispanic population in the city. Maybe an article along the lines of Salvadorans in Washington, D.C. might be a good project for you to look into? There seem to be more sources on that population. If you aren't interested that's fine, I just thought it might be a good suggestion.
Also, I looked into doing an article on Salvadorans or Central Americans in Baltimore, but there was not enough information on them specifically, so I made a general article on the History of the Hispanics and Latinos in Baltimore. If you know/find any information on Salvadorans in Baltimore, you could add the info to that article.
Thanks. Solar-Wind (talk) 20:05, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
