April 2021

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Drmies. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Lindiwe Sisulu, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 14:47, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. Thank you for this message. I will include a citation from the factual reliable source on the added content you mentioned. Thanks again CelebGovMediaNews (talk) 16:28, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother you, just a question. When I want to insert a citation I type: {{Cite web|url=https:// followed by the URL, correct? CelebGovMediaNews (talk) 16:45, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Depends on the source, on what kind it is. For a website, yes: see Template:cite web. There is probably a couple links on that page for other kinds of sources: "cite book", "cite news", etc. Hey, I'm wondering about your name. It does not really agree with our policy (see WP:USERNAME) and I was actually on the verge of blocking you. So please do me a favor and look at the policy, and see if you can't come up with a modification so an administrator can rename you--cause right now, your username looks like that of an organization, not an individual. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 22:20, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your advice once again. Wasn't aware my username looks like that of an organization, it most certainly is not. I will however make it more of an individual username if it is against the policy. How do I get an administrator to change it? Thanks Drmies. CelebGovMediaNews (talk) 23:18, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please be more careful with your additions at Bill Gates. Part of that were clear copies from the Fox source, and other parts were close paraphrasing. Use your own words, please. You may also want to join the existing discussion on the article's talk page and make sure there's consensus to jump in to that topic. Kuru (talk) 22:29, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. Thank you. I used Fox News and UK Independent as sources and did use my own wording. But will change it further if you found it to be simular or paraphrasing. Thanks again WikiHuman2021 (talk) 22:32, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Use detailed edit summaries

[edit]

Hello, WikiHuman2021. I noticed your contributions here, and I see that a lot of them don't have detailed edit summaries. Saying that you 'added content' is almost as unhelpful as no edit summary. Make sure to add detailed edit summaries (but not too detailed!) on the future edits you do, to avoid a possible confusion with another editor. Thank you. GameTriangle (talk) 23:11, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for this message. Kindly noted. Thanks WikiHuman2021 (talk) 23:12, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
