Hello, can you show me where to find the deleted copy of the page I created? I've scoured the various menus and links, but I'm unable to find it. Thank you! Ceejaysteku (talk) 18:37, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Notability of your company
[edit]I see that you are trying to create an article about your own company, which is generally discouraged. Your company is most likely not notable per Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Additionally, as it is your company, you have a conflict of interest that could make your article biased. - ZLEA T\C 14:41, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the information, and yes, I do work for the company I am trying to create a page for. However, I'm specifically uninterested in manifesting a conflict of interest. My intention was to create a page that would give anyone interested a bit of information about Catsy, our product, and our webpage. With regard to the company not being notable enough for a page, that makes sense. However, I would refer you to the 3 pages I consulted when creating my company's page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akeneo, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Informatica, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pimcore. Simply, I'd like to know why these pages are allowed to stay up and mine is not. I've been told by C.Fred that the language used in these pages is more neutral. I attempted to use neutral language on the page I created, and would appreciate any pointers you could give me. Also, I seem not to be able to access the contents of the deleted page, so if you could help with that, I'd very much appreciate it, too. Thank you! Ceejaysteku (talk) 18:43, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- In the case of Akeneo, Informatica, and Pimcore, the companies have received much attention from reliable third-party sources. As for neutral language, it is often hard for someone affiliated with a company to create a neutral article about the company.
- If you believe that your company is notable, then the best thing to do would be to ask an unaffiliated user to create the article (Wikipedia:WikiProject Companies is a good place to ask). If the article is created, you should try not to edit it (unless you see a typo or revert vandalism), but make an edit request on its talk page. - ZLEA T\C 19:48, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- Also, there is no way for you to view deleted articles, only admins can view them. - ZLEA T\C 19:52, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- I appreciate the information. On a related note, how does one become an admin? Ceejaysteku (talk) 17:16, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- Anyone may request to be an admin at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship. Requests by new users almost never succeed, as they do not have a track record to show that they can be trusted with the ability to delete pages, block users, or any other serious action. - ZLEA T\C 17:41, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- Because I can't access the page I made that was deleted, and I wrote it directly into Wikipedia without creating a back up, I was wondering if you could copy and paste it here. That why I can tweak it to maximize its informational value without coming across as a sales pitch. If that doesn't work, I wonder if you wouldn't mind at least emailing me the content of the page, so I can work on it myself. Thank you. Ceejaysteku (talk) 19:53, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
- I am not an admin, so I cannot access deleted pages. You will have to ask an admin to do that (a list of active admins can be found here). - ZLEA T\C 20:58, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
- You can also post a request at WP:REFUND for an administrator to email you a copy of the text. —C.Fred (talk) 01:47, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
