Help me!

[edit]

Hi, I'm cavalierkingcharlesspaniel and I need help. I am new to the wikipedia program and do not understand how I edit onto my page, and I am confused about what a 'sandbox' is. If someone could help me I would be very grateful!

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cavalierkingcharlesspaniel (talkcontribs)

Re: Hello Luna!

[edit]

Sorry for the delay, I was at work. So. Some of your questions can be answered at the Wikipedia Tutorial (specifically, see the section on talk pages). So, if it makes sense, every article has a talk page, or the capacity for one to be created -- the talk page for Water is found at Talk:Water; the talk page for User:Luna Santin is found at User talk:Luna Santin. If you see the "discussion" tab, up at the top of your screen, that'll take you to the talk page of whatever page you're at. Each time somebody signs their post, they create a link to their userpage, and from there it's easy to find their talk page.

Your watchlist is a little tricky to get used to, but to get started it's simple enough: if you click the "watch" tab (again, up top), the page you're at will be added to your watchlist, which you can view by navigating to Special:Watchlist, or by clicking the "my watchlist" link, top right. By placing pages on your watchlist, it'll be easier for you to keep track of changes to pages that interest you.

Uuuuhm, can't think of anything else to add at the moment, but if you need anything, let me know; you can also ask questions the new contributors' help page, or place {{helpme}} on your own talk page (with a question), and someone should be along to help you pretty quick-like. So, always open for questions or concerns. Happy editing. Luna Santin 06:12, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I wasn't around to answer your other questions -- looks like time zones were working against us, there. Glad you figured it out, though! Luna Santin 20:39, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Survey

[edit]

Hi Cavalierkingcharlesspaniel!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you!
