Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Catsch8, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Your draft

[edit]

Thanks for creating a draft about an important topic, but what you have written isn't appropriate for a stand-alone article. As it currently stands, you could consider expanding the Urban forest article which vaguely approaches the topic, but doesn't come nearly close enough. If you want to create a stand-alone article you'd need to restructure your layout. I have linked to the Editing Wikipedia brochure here, and I recommend that you have a look at pages 7-9 in that brochure.

If you do decided to create an article, you need a lead section that summarizes all the major points of the article. You also need to focus on the specific topic (urban canopy inequality) and not spend too much time discussing things that are covered in other articles (like the urban forest and urban forestry article).

Let me know if there's anything more I can help with. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:06, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
