Peer review

[edit]

Hi! I noticed you tried to add Second Battle of Kharkov to the peer review list here. Unfortunately, the link you gave was to a non-existent page, so I've removed it for the time being. If you'd like to get it reviewed, I suggest either following the directions on Wikipedia:Peer review to create an actual peer review page to use; or, if you don't want to go through the formal process, just asking for comments on the project talk page.

Please feel free to ask me if you need help with anything :-) —Kirill Lokshin 17:40, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Kharkov

[edit]

Hi Catalan,

Thanks for your reply and kind words. I would really get this article for FA (and you too I think). Indeed, I think what we need is a German view. So I think what will be interesting would be to get all German-side info from Glants' book, with citations, quotes and so on :)

Also, if you can scan more pics from his book to illustrate, it would be nice!

Thanks in advance,

Ch'onma-ho Article

[edit]

Glad to help. Good job starting the article up. I think it deserves to be nominated for did you know? Michael Z. 2006-10-19 18:25 Z

For DYK, how about mentioning that little is known about this tank's origins, employment or status? Michael Z. 2006-10-19 23:41 Z

License tagging for Image:Downtownchula.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Downtownchula.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:04, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Morozov 001.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Morozov 001.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

== Line art ==

That's a great drawing you uploaded by Jason Biggs. Do you think he'd be interested in doing other work on request? Of course I can think of a hundred drawings that we'd like, but there may be two or three which would greatly enhance a few articles. I registered at the forum you linked from the image page, but the topic is not accessible to me (anyway, I don't want to barge in and start asking for favours as a stranger). Regards. Michael Z. 2006-10-30 18:37 Z

I wouldnt mind it all that much, but Im usually fairly short on time. the License agreement worries me a bit, but Practice is Practice afterall.Jay313 20:31, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit conflict]
I can understand Jason's hesitation about the licensing. In addition to GFDL there are also Creative Commons licences available, but I think Wikimedia Commons requires a version which allows commercial distribution and derivative works. English Wikipedia may allow a licence with fewer restrictions, but it still has to be commercially distributable because Wikipedia allows free republishing. Anyway, it was generous of him to contribute the Ch'onma-ho drawing.
There is one image I've wanted to get for a while, and I'll probably get around to making it myself some day. The article T-34 could use a set of simple drawings of the main tank models at the same scale, to show their main identification features—either a drawing with all of them lined up, or some individual ones which could head the table of models. Side elevations would be great, but 3/4-view isometric drawings would be ideal. The models are M1940 with the low-slung L-11 gun, M1941/42 with the F-34 gun, M1943 with the hexagonal turret, and T-34-84 with the new turret and 85mm gun. Just thought I'd mention it, in case it comes up :-). Cheers. Michael Z. 2006-10-30 20:44 Z

Hi Catalan,

Thanks for your hard work on Ch'onma-ho and other related articles. Just curious if you might be interested in joining the DPRK working group in WikiProject Korea (and perhaps joining the main projectas well). We're hoping to improve Wikipedia's coverage of this difficult area. Cheers, -- Visviva 07:56, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: T-26 Good Article

[edit]

Well, my knowledge of tanks is pretty limited, so I'm probably not the best person to evaluate it. This editor, on the other hand, knows a great deal about them; I would suggest asking him if he can take a look at it. :-) Kirill Lokshin 23:58, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

T-26 GA review

[edit]

I'm not a tank expert by any means, but I read the T-26 article and found it to be a good, comprehensive, and well-written overview of the tank. From a layman's perspective, I learned a lot about the tank and its role in the various military campaigns it was in. I promoted it to Good Article status, and even gave it an A-class as well. Congratulations on the good article! --Elkman - (Elkspeak) 17:25, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
