Brent Cross

[edit]

Hello CastleCapt, please don´t delete the infobox. Regards --Serols (talk) 13:09, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. There is a reason why I did and it's because Brent Cross is not an actual neighbourhood/district. It is technically road crossings and the location is Hendon. By having that infobox it generalises it as being just another district. --CastleCapt (talk) 13:11, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello CastleCapt, then please write that in the comment field, that's important. Regards --Serols (talk) 13:18, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'm sorry for the mistake. I'll do so now with a comment. --CastleCapt (talk) 16:20, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Edmonton Green Shopping Centre into Edmonton, London. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 23:25, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for informing me. I was not aware that cross-copying within Wikipedia itself also required attribution. I will keep this in mind. --CastleCapt (talk) 01:59, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect coordinates

[edit]

Thanks for your shopping centre contributions. I noticed that The Mall Walthamstow, Treaty Centre and Ealing Broadway Centre all had the wrong coordinates specified, and have fixed them. The latter two were given as having the same coordinates, near Kensworth in Bedfordshire, so I guess something must be going wrong in however you're working these coordinates out. Let me know if you need any help.

In case you don't already know, you can always just add {{coord missing|London}} to an article instead of adding coordinates. Adding that template puts the article onto a list of those lacking in coordinates, and other editors will drop by and fix it later. --Lord Belbury (talk) 16:02, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know. I really am not sure what happened and how it ended up in Bedfordshire! --CastleCapt (talk) 16:03, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Looks like the other articles are all fine.
One other thing: I don't think there's any style guide saying to put place names in brackets, so don't worry about fixing that. Wikipedia:Naming conventions (architecture) is a bit vague, but suggests that a comma is more appropriate than brackets. I think either format is fine. --Lord Belbury (talk) 16:33, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's all fine. Someone else has also recommended commas and has moved an article I created to St George's Shopping Centre, Harrow. --CastleCapt (talk) 14:26, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good! I've moved it to St George's Shopping Centre, Harrow-this is preferred under the policy WP:COMMADIS, and linked to the Wikimedia Commons category. Hope that sounds OK.
