thank you but...

[edit]

dear Casablanca2000in

Thank youf or adding categories to Rare Earths Facility. but i would like to ask if you could reconsider some of the categories you used? The facility closed in 1973, but the company that owned it did not close in 1973. The facility was never actually a company itself, but was bought by different companies, which, in turn, were bought by other companies. Thank you and i appreciate your edits and improvements very much. Decora (talk) 03:56, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, corrected. Detailed reply on your talk page. Casablanca2000in (talk) 04:46, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to figure out the stub for mobile phones. Thank you for adding it to the Motorola Devour article. How do you figure that stuff out??? :) Hazel-roo (talk) 19:54, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tenaille

[edit]

Instead of putting a template such as Template:Context (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) on a very small stub which is marked as a stub, how about instead spending your time doing a Google search on the word and adding some context? I think the place for such maintenance templates is on the talk page of an article if anywhere, as that is where editorial comments should be placed not in article space. This is even more so when the size of the comment block placed on a small stub is larger than the original article! -- PBS (talk) 01:56, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I use Template:Context very sparingly and only did so because I really couldn't make out what the article was about. I believe that any article (even a stub) should introduce the topic clearly enough that the common man can immediately understand what it is about. However, I will take your suggestion to search for some information before tagging an article next time. Casablanca2000in (talk) 17:37, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The trouble with the redirect that you made is that it makes no mention of the current newspaper, LA Express. Disambiguation? Suomi Finland 2009 (talk) 23:16, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I overlooked the part about the LA Express still being published. Casablanca2000in (talk) 02:46, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. —DoRD (talk) 22:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:14, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

position of stub tags

[edit]

Hi, I just looked at Pheidole and found you'd stub-sorted it just before I got there, but can I point out that the stub tag goes after everything except inter-wiki links. (See WP:FOOTERS). I've moved it, but as you're a regular stub-sorted I thought I should point it out. PamD (talk) 15:21, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for future edits. Casablanca2000in (talk) 16:44, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Whether you have patrolled many pages or only a few, we now need to know about your experience. The survey takes only 6 minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist us in analyzing the results of the survey; the WMF will not use the information to identify you.

  • If this invitation also appears on other accounts you may have, please complete the survey once only.
  • If this has been sent to you in error and you have never patrolled new pages, please ignore it.

Please click HERE to take part.
Many thanks in advance for providing this essential feedback.

You are receiving this invitation because you have patrolled new pages. For more information, please see NPP Survey

Hi. When you recently edited A. R. Rahman, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Conductor and Keyboard (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:21, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Casablanca2000in,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
