Photos
[edit]Hi, the images that you added to Amram Aburabia are not showing on the page because they were copied from the Hebrew Wikipedia. They need to be uploaded at Wikimedia Commons, from where they can be used on all Wikipedia sister-language projects. When you upload the file at Commons, you need to indicate what the licensing is. I'm not expert at uploading files from the Hebrew Wikipedia; you can get guidance from Commons Help. Best, Yoninah (talk) 10:47, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
Aburabia/Aburbeh
[edit]Can you please provide a source for the spelling you prefer? I changed the spelling last time because I could not find any references that refer to Rabbi Amram specifically as Aburbeh, but I found several that refer to him as Aburabia. הסרפד (Hasirpad) [formerly Ratz...bo] 04:44, 2 January 2013 (UTC) Dear Editor There is a letter , that is a proof of the "Beit Mischar" he owned with his partner Rabbi Shlush selling Sefrei Kodesh (religious books) THE HEADING in ENGLISH is Amram Aburbeh & Co Jerusaelm Palestine — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.195.119.49 (talk) 23:16, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- OK, thats fine with me. But please add the other spelling in the first sentence "(also spelled Aburabia)" since most English books spell his name that way. הסרפד (Hasirpad) [formerly Ratz...bo] 23:36, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Dear Editor when I clicked a few minutes ago on this link it showed the letter I mentioned earlier http://picclick.com/Amram-Aburbeh-Co-Jerusalem-180890574727.html sincerely Carmel Avivi-Green — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.195.119.49 (talk) 23:46, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- Again, that's fine, keep Aburbeh as the correct spelling, but please spell it once Aburabia so that people searching this spelling will be able to find it. הסרפד (Hasirpad) [formerly Ratz...bo] 23:53, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, I don't think you uploaded the images to Commons correctly. The street sign, for example, is showing up as a low-resolution scan when it was uploaded at 800px. I went ahead and re-uploaded it correctly. If you wish to comment on the deletion of your original upload, please see [1].
The cornerstone-laying ceremony picture is much clearer on the Hebrew Wikipedia and is not properly licensed on Commons. Please see discussion at [2].
The image of Rabbi Aburbeh is not properly licensed on Commons. Please see discussion at [3]. Yoninah (talk) 21:30, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, in response to your note on my talk page, and as I said in an earlier post on this talk page, it's just a matter of proper licensing. I suggest you contact the Wikimedia Commons Help Desk to get directions for putting the right copyright/licensing tags on the photos. Best, Yoninah (talk) 15:50, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]Before you add any more sources to Amram Aburbeh, please be aware that the article lacks inline citations. This means there should be a footnote identifying the source of each line (or lines) of information in the article. It does not mean piling up a list of URL links at the end, which will most likely be deleted for sheer volume and excess. If you would like guidance in this matter, please contact me on my talk page. Best, Yoninah (talk) 14:32, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- Each piece of information in the article should be cited to a source. Obviously, a whole write-up about Amram Aburbeh's life could be used as the source for many pieces of information in the article. Before you get started, however, be aware of the difference between primary sources, which are written by the subject or an organization affiliated with him, and secondary sources, which are independent, third-party references, like newspapers, books, etc. Wikipedia prefers secondary sources. Therefore, a piece of information mentioned in Netivei Am would not be appropriate for the article.
- The lead is fine. Starting with the Biography, you need to cite the source/s in which his birthdate, birthplace, and parents' background are mentioned. It's pretty much the same for the rest of the information in the article. None of it can be your own knowledge; everything has to be verifiable. There's no problem in citing Hebrew-language sources, as long as it's what the sources say.
- The sources you quote should be more than just "mentions". They should be actual treatments of the subject material. If one source mentions in passing that Rabbi Aburbeh, Chief Rabbi of Petah Tikva, attended a funeral, and another source goes in-depth on what Rabbi Aburbeh has done in his position as Chief Rabbi of Petah Tikva, the second source is preferable.
- You do not have to number the footnote and then number the source at the end. The referencing program does that automatically. How to format a reference can be found in Help:Footnotes. If you want to start by putting the URL link after the sentence, I will go in and show you how to format the reference. You can get an idea of how footnotes look by looking at other Wikipedia articles. Yehuda Tzadka is an article I worked on that has pretty thorough referencing, even though there weren't so many sources. Best, Yoninah (talk) 10:35, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for putting in all the URLs. I will try to continue formatting the references after Shabbos. Best, Yoninah (talk) 12:38, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, I completed the reference formatting. Most of the links you put in were either to the Hebrew Wikipedia, which is inappropriate, or websites that are considered unreliable sources. The best sources you have are the Jewish Encyclopedia article and the Rabbi Amram Aburbeh Street article. If you can find other books/magazines/articles which talk about Rabbi Aburbeh's life in detail, they would make good additional sources for this page. I also cleaned up the formatting on the Further Reading section. Best, Yoninah (talk) 21:06, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

New sources
[edit]Dear Carmel avivi-green, I don't understand why you are adding in so many sources, especially to Hebrew sites that will not be read by English Wikipedia users. I rolled back your edits today because: 1) they are sources that mention Aburbeh briefly or in passing, not in a complete treatment as I explained above; 2) they are Wikipedia mirror sites, which do not belong here; 3) they are not reliable sources. If you don't have any more solid sources like book or magazine articles about Aburbeh, please stop adding links to the page. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 19:44, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, your new images are very nice. Regarding the Siddur V'Ani Tefilah, do you have a source that says his store published books? Or he just put his name on the title page as the seller? Yoninah (talk) 09:34, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
shalom to Editor Yoninah
In Jerusalem National Library the catalog of beit mischar partners Amram Aburbeh and Yosef Yitzchak Shloush is found.
on page 11 there is list of books such as Siddurey Tefila, Sefer tehilim psalms and more that are their own " mi Tozeret shelanu" )
v'Ani Tefilah is written as Sephardic Tradition (Minhag Sefaradim) customs that the Rabbi followed with lead his community and synagogue.
In addition www.hebrew-bibliography.com, project of Hebrew books also has link to this siddur book with the information MOTZI LAOR AMRAM ABURBEH & Co. in Hebrew language letters and words. I can add this link too.

[edit]Hi, I do not have time to nominate your new images for deletion, but I think you should take the time to learn how to license them properly. The 1926 scan of the cornerstone-laying ceremony is not your own work; however, it may be public domain since it is over 50 years old. Please contact the Help Desk at Wikimedia Commons to find out how to license your images properly. (Maybe you can even upload Aburbeh's picture again with their help.)
