Correct, we also have Eric Dier now, but in that timeframe, and given the fact the author of the article forgot to mention Barry Wellings, he is the first/second (depending if you include Wellings or not) English player to compete in Portugal.

Please respect the other people's work, removing references without explanation in WP is a very serious matter man. I am sorry for my summary reaction, but i was really taken aback by your actions and, as you known, WP articles (especially those connected to sports) are vandalized EVERY DAY. Hopefully you can: 1 - accept my sincere apologies; 2 - stop removing the ref if you please.
